I find this interesting that everyone believe Ryan wants a game manager at QB. Ryan believes in a D that attacks, it's hard for me to understand why he wouldn't want the same thing on O. I believe we will pass the ball deep a lot more than people think. Defensive games are changed by big plays that radically shift field position. I believe we will run the ball but when we do pass it it's not going to be dink and dunk but over the top and down the field.
Quinn makes perfect sense for Woody. Not only can he be our starting QB, he can be the "Ryan Era" Jets Poster Boy. NY media will love him, as will the local scene. PSLs anybody?
I'm one of the proponents of a franchise QB, but i'm only taking what the CS has given me. I'd like to know what schotty wants considering he's the one calling the offense. Quinn has the arm to throw downfield. Not a laser cannon, but he has a hasselbeck arm - it can get you to the SB. And Quinn is a leader. How good of a leader is to be seen.
I think Quinn could help us and most likely wins a battle of the qb's but to trade for him and just hand him the keys when he hasn't proven much in the NFL would be poor judgment. However, giving away the future is a little much, a second round draft pick is not a def. starter in this league, but there is the presumption that they will probably come in and start at some point. The real question is weighing who will still be available in the second round and whether they would have a bigger impact than Quinn could. I think trading a good qb prospect for our second round pick is a good gamble.
Brady Quinn on the Jets makes sense. The Dolphins passed on Quinn in the draft, so this is Karma's way of making up for the Dan Marino fiasco.
Quinn would be a hell of a lot better than drafting Freeman. If we draft Freeman in the first round I will turn off the draft!
I think i would as well, can't stand the thought of us choosing Freeman over all the other options. If we are so hell bent on getting a QB then Quinn has my vote of confidence.
If that is true, what the heck is Mangini doing there, Dealing Quinn to draft Sanchez just doesn?t make any sense, imo. I?d guess it?s a smokescreen, caus Mangini likes to think, that he?s unpredictable.
I think we'd do well with either Quinn or Clemens; they both have a lot of potential. Clemens makes more sense to me though since he's already on the roster. Regarding the draft.. I can't see us drafting Freeman at 17 b/c that would be a terrible move; I don't see us trading up for Sanchez either since trading up to the top ten would leave us broke. I could see the Browns dealing Anderson and/or Quinn to draft Sanchez. That seems the most likely, though I hope we don't buy.. if I were the Browns I'd keep Quinn, lose Anderson and draft a day 2 QB. Apparently, everyone at NFLN thinks we're drafting the most overrated prospect in the draft.. http://www.nfl.com/draft/story?id=09000d5d80fb153b&template=without-video-with-comments&confirm=true
This rumor has been out there all week. There is another involving Anderson too. For sure nothing will happen until pick 4 on Saturday and then we will see who has the balls to make a move. My guess is it won't be Tannenbaum.
Would hate Anderson, never rated him, and we would be better going with what we have than trading for him. At least it should make for interesting waiting between the 4th and 17th pick.
Can't lose sight of the prize...he has 50,000 PSLs to see and the way it looks now with the team as it is he will be lucky to sell 20% of them.
Sanchez and Quinn would be the two guys to sell seats. KC can't fill the seats or sell the jerseys. Sanchez or Quinn would be the hottest selling Jerseys in NY if we get them.
