Dude, you dance better than a politician. Talk about double-speak.

Is this really you at the press conference?

Champ should look. There will always be fans that complain about coaches and players no matter how good they are but the spirit of the best seems like Champ expected them to be overwhelmingly against herm and cleary that was not the case at any point during the season.

In the original post Dog links to the bet Champ and you clearly accepted and IMO lost.

They should have bet on something a little more tangible.

Champ's not paying any bets ever, win or lose. Betting with him is a mistake to begin with, he never admits he's wrong. And if I remember correctly, he once said he made his own hat to wear to the game, this guy is paying a bet?

This is a retarded bet. If anyone owes money it's you MD, I read some of the Chiefs boards the first few weeks of the season, many were definitely calling for his head around Week 3. Your bet isn't that you check on week 8, it's that within week 8 there are negative fans that want his head. You made a very vague bet, and you lost it by any meaningful interpretation. Either YOU pay up or shut up about it. I'm with Champ on this one, and I don't even like him. Very, very stupid thread.

Thank you. I included the link and it's a very easy bet to decide a winner. Champ took the stance that "by week 8 the KC fans would be calling for Herm's head", I took the stance that they wouldn't. It's past week 8 and there was nothing in the KC papers (at least online) showing that they wanted Herm gone in Week 8.

As for this thread being pointless as someone mentioned they're semi-right but if you think about it there is a point and that is Champ's word is meaningless if he doesn't pay up. Anyone can read through that link I posted and see where the bet was made and how I even clarified the bet since I know how Champ gets. I only resorted to creating a new post after Champ ignored my bumping of the original thread and after PMing him with no luck.

By the way Champ, I just double checked my PM logs and I have no PMs from you and never have gotten any. I can post a screen shot if need be or one of the mods can verify.

So Champ, if you're a man of your word then please contact Petro to make payment arrangements.

I agree with the few, this bet should just be thrown out, the terms are way too vague to legitimately say that one side won the bet

You're entitled to your opinion but if there's any "retardation" of the bet it's because of the initial premise Champ started with. Being that he put a cutoff of week 8 I take that to be when you determine the pulse of the KC fans. Plus we all know had Champ actually thought he won this bet he would've called me out a long time ago which further proves he lost.

I think that both sides should meet at Applebees and take out their aggressions there.....

After 10PM of course, half price apps, and I want to have enough to eat and drink before we all rush out to the parking lot.

I can't stand Champ, but if the bet really does state "by week 8" I take that to mean that at any point between the start of the season and week 8. It doesn't say "in week 8".

I say we all save up all our grievances, then get to the Oakland game real early and have an all out free-for-all melee. Old school.

I hope MD is the one that is a man about it. Since he pursued it so hard, he should really pay up. There is absolutely no way any rational human being will equate "by" as "at." "By" has always meant sometime before that cutoff time. We could have a poll or both of the bettors could agree to a neutral judge to "moderate." I.E. both guys should pick someone to settle this. It's rather irritating to see one guy judge a dispute and then publically slander the other guy. MD, I hope you can take a step back and see how your dislike of champ is blinding you here, and making you act irrationally. I'm frankly surprised at you, I remember we used to have some very good discussions about a year back where we'd disagree on everything, but we'd still both look at things rationally and respect each other. Now granted, champ isn't me, and probably doesn't evoke any feelings of respect from the way he usually posts, but I would expect you to take the high road on this one regardless of that.

MD, seriously, step back a bit, look everything over, and put yourself in either champ's shoes or the shoes of someone judging this for the first time, and then tell me you seriously think that you're in the right here.

    I can see that point.

I took the "by week 8" to mean that what would the fans be saying after week 8 which would've given Herm 1/2 a season to be graded. That way you don't have a bet that depends on one week's game but a certain body of work.

I would also add like I said above had Champ actually thought he had won this bet he would have called me out and his silence on the issue until now sort of proves my point.

Anyway, I don't care about the money since I was donating it to the board anyway so if Champ doesn't want to pay up that's fine.

Taking a step back and looking everything over I would still stand by my assertion. While I can see the point that someone might take "by week 8" to mean anytime within that time frame, my thinking is that 's more likely that one would not make a bet that hinged on the reactionary nature of fans after one game vs a bet that looked at a body of work after 1/2 the season.

If I needed more facts to back up my position we have Champ lying about a PM to me, Champ ignoring the link I posted and saying I am offering no proof, and as I've already stated the fact that we all know Champ is the first to jump in with any small mention of anything that might back up something he said (just see the Vilma and Miller postings for proof) yet he ignored this issue until now.

Bottom line to me is that it makes more sense that one would make a bet of how the KC fans would be grading Herm after half the season not after one game during that time frame. Had the Chiefs had a losing record by week 8 and the fans saying Herm sucks and their being ramblings about why he was hired and that he should go I would pay up since I'm a man of my word.

I would like to echo the sentiment of the afore mentioned points that this is the most ridiculous thread I've come to read. Not to mention I labored through a thread just today asking what Herm's record would be today if he were still in NY.

You two should just get a room already.

"by week 8" means......Anytime leading up to week 8. Stop trying to make this seem like semantics, because it's not. You're not blowing sunshine up anyone's ass with that argument.
