Coples is a solid plus NFL starter with a chance to improve entering his prime. Anybody that doesn't see that doesn't know or care to know the player on the field, they're just labeling him in their mind because he was the 16th overall pick and they have such high expectations for such a player. Entering his 4th year he may begin to meet those expectations even if he never surpasses them. That isn't supposed to be a bad thing.
A lot of people think he's that 10+ sack speed DPR, where clearly he is a much more complete lineman than that. In college he succeeded more because he was able to simply over power all the competition. His skill set makes him very interchangeable and that's what Rex likes in his lineman, he's an above average player who does a lot of the dirty work and is capable making plays and wrecking havoc as he did in Tennessee.
He's the player I can really see striving in a new system when he isn't being played out of position.
His hand is still on the ground 80% of the time. What system do you see him striving in? He would be a decent strong side de.
Bullshit! I included ALL of the first round picks old or young, helpful or useless. To say that a group including the likes of Richardson, Wilkerson, Revis, Sean Ellis, etc. would make any defensive coach look good is not out of the question. The group that Rex had in Baltimore including Ed Reed an Ray Lewis was not too shabby either. Perhaps Rex is not a defensive genius but just another guy. Please tell me how anything said in the above paragraph does not make sense.
I'd like to see him get more consistency as a DE, and less of a hybrid. I don't have the numbers, but I wouldn't say it's 80% of the time he has his hand in the ground. They line the dude up on wide receivers sometimes! That does say something about his athleticism, but it seems pretty out of place for my taste. Rex and crew seem content with trying to make him into some hyrbrid monster, but I believe he's better off sticking at DE. I won't specify a specific system for him to strive in, but I believe he needs to be in a condensed defensive scheme where he can utilize his ability to get up field and create havoc in the backfield. We'll see what happens!
you're an idiot. Sean Ellis was a great Jet, and played on our team for 12 years. Coples won't last past his rookie deal. I mean what do you expect from a man who brands himself.
I have no expectations on player's longevity or ability based on whether he is a Q-Dog. Just as I have no presumptions about a person's intelligence after he insults mine. But I do suspect his mother wasn't very smart or good looking.
By the looks of your profile picture, I cant definitely say your ugly and poor. And for sure on the lower part of the IQ curve.
Why is it all the time that the guys claiming others are dumb can't even spell you're? And, see, here's the other thing: you judge me by a Halloween costume (that I totally nailed btw). I judge you by your mother, the ho.
