A QB is supposed to hit a RB in the stomach with the handoff. Also, the RB should never be watching the handoff. He is supposed to have his eyes up so he can see where the hole is opening up.

Nobody is talking about staring the football down. It's a big football right in front of your eyes, you'd have to be completely blind to not see it, and you don't have to even look at it. The damn thing is still in your peripheral. If you think handoffs are perfect 99.9% of the time because you rarely see these fumbles you're wrong.

I never said that handoffs are always perfect, but that fumble is more on the QB than the RB.

Great summary here. That said, one glaring miss here is Calvin Pryor. First round pick and still taking very BAD angles. Between him and Cromartie, pretty easy to imagine a scenario where opposing QBs have two weak links to pick on consistently in our secondary, rendering most of the $$$ we spent last offseason to address the issue ineffective.

I also believe losing Enkempali may actually hurt this defense more than losing Geno will hurt the offense, in the long run.

Pryor I felt had a clean game. Are you referring to a specific play?

The One thing out of this play that I liked was seeing revis still having the speed to catch a fast player from behind.

I was at the game and paid attention to the sidelines a lot of the time.

Who I liked was Brandon Marshall. Just watching him coach guys up as they would come off the field. He talked to Fitz and decker a lot of the time. High fives the back ups as the came off the field, offense, defense and special teams players.

For a 5th round pick we got a steal with Marshall.

    Other takeaways:
-I seen Diane Gilbert in the stands (Revis Mom). She looks like a female defensive tackle version of revis lol
-LB Barnes showed a motor, speed and made a few plays. Don't know much about him.
-Mauldin played well. Fast and explosive. Missed a couple tackles and that flag was BS.
-I think Reilly makes the team now with IK gone, he played pretty well.
-McDougle disappointed me. Letting up the long TD to Salas and another long fade route to Salas. Did have a nice diving PD.
-Willaims was getting picked on till his interception. That entire drive the QB kept going his way avoiding Walls side of the field.
-L.Williams would have had a TFL if it wasn't for a hold(wasn't called but clearly a hold)
-had a nice Kickoff return and a few good punt returns.

Last but not least it was week one of the preseason and its funny how much shit I've gotten from friends lol. Starters play 1-2 series and some starters didn't even play. No gameplan bing which I think will be a huge strength for Bowles, he's a very intelligent football mind. People take to much out of preseason games and really the NFL needs to reduce the preseason by at least 1 game.

Any examples? I saw Cro whiff, I saw DD whiff a couple times. That's about it. Will have to rewatch the game but I don't remember Pryor missing a tackle or giving up a catch.

He came up way too fast on the 45 yard run Abdullah had. I thought he also took a bad angle on a catch but I'll have to rewatch it to confirm that second one. It just brought back bad memories from last season - I don't get why his angles are so off

I rewatched the 2 drives he was out there. You can't blame him for that long run, he played OLB on the other side. There was so much going on and so many players piled up it was impossible for him to find a good angle on Abdullah who used his blockers perfectly to set up the bigrun. Gilchrist was in position to tackle him but he was being blocked, so Pryor had to either cut inside or stay on the outside, in both cases he would have been taken himself out of the play, there was no way he would have gotten Ameer at that point. The guy just made a great play, can't hate him for that.
