Quarterback: Carson Palmer - Michael Vick - Kellen Clemens I think Carson Palmer is an amazing young QB. He could be the best QB in the league for years to come. I fell in love when he carried my fantasy team last year. I had to put Michael Vick in as a second stringer as a shoutout to my Hokies. He would be a good backup to Palmer as he wouldn't have the pressure to have to develop into a West Coast QB and could just do his thing and take over a game with his athleticism. I'll give a spot to our future Jets QB. I wasn't too high on him going into the draft but I'll take him as my #3, developmental QB Running Back: Kevin Jones - Tatum Bell - TJ Duckett Again with the Hokies, love Jones, thought he had a shitty year last year but something must have been wrong either in his body or the organization. I think he will bounce back this year. With Tatum Bell you have the perfect #2 home run hitting sparkplug back. Duckett will be my horse who I can ride into the end zone. I think he got a raw deal in Atlanta and could have developed in the right scheme (ex. Pittsburgh) Fullback: Jerald Sowell - Doug Easlick I'm not gonna lie, I didn't put a whole lot of thought into this, but come one, who has a favorite Fullback? Wide Receivers: Larry Fitzgerald - Plaxico Burress - Laveranues Coles - Andre Johnson - Ernest Wilford I got my favorite WR in Fitzgerald. I knew this kid was going to be a star. I like Burress as my big WR who can go up and get it. Coles (in his prime before the Washington fiasco) can be my burner who can go deep. Johnson is my big physical WR who will outmuscle the CB or S. Wilford is another one of my boys who was my #1 sleeper pick coming out of school. Kid can catch just about anything. Has great height but not such great speed. Tight End: Vernon Davis - Antonio Gates - Ben Troupe Vernon is a kid I think will flourish in this league. Someone I would not have been upset about had we taken him at #4. Gates speaks for himself and you gotta respect a guy who made himself in this league with nothing given to him. Troupe is an under the radar kid who can step it up with a little continuity at QB and in the injury department. With some players to take the focus off of him (Young and White) he could step up in the next couple years. Offensive Tackle: John Ogden - Kareem McKenzie - D'Brickashaw Ferguson - Jordan Gross I think Ogden is a great LT and McKenzie was a great RT for us. D'Brick and Gross for my developmental/versatile backups Offensive Guard: Eric Steinbach - Pete Kendall - Taitusi Lutui - Larry Allen I had to go with two versatile players. Kendall and Steinbach can play a lot of positions well. Lutui is my young developmental guy and Allen can be my wily back who I can throw in there to change the pace of the game. Offensive Center: Kevin Mawae - Nick Mangold This was a tough one because I wanted to put Jake Grove in but I went with the Vet Kevin Mawae to play until Mangold is 100% ready then have him back up Mangold. To me Mawae defined what a center was for so many years you gotta love him. I'll always remember him pulling outside the tackle running up the field with a big cross on his helmet. Defensive End: Shaun Ellis - Kevin Williams - Marcus Spears - Marquise Hill I'm going with the 3-4 here so I'll take Ellis to man one side. I went with Kevin Williams because he is a quick and strong DT but too small to play the nose. I think he would be perfect in the 3-4 at the end. This is punctuated by our gaffe of trading up to get Robertson when Williams was available later and has had a much better career. I'm going with the two LSU boys to be my backup bookends. I always remember when LSU beat up Oklahoma in the championship a couple years ago. I seem to remember Spears just dominating that game. Being all over the ball and the pocket. With Hill I remember him being a prototype 3-4 end in terms of size/speed package when he came out of college. Nose Tackle: John Henderson - Jamal Williams - Vince Wilfork Gotta love Henderson. He comes to work everyday and you never hear about him in a negative way. He is gigantic so he could easily handle the nose but if not I know Jamal Williams can. He was unblockable during the Chargers playoff run (until we stopped him) a couple years ago. I like Wilfork also, I think he will become a great Nose Tackle and think he is already a very good one. Outside Linebacker: Terrell Suggs - Shawne Merriman - Manny Lawson - DeMarcus Ware Going with the youth movement, but these are young guys with a lot of energy and intensity who fit the hybrid edge rusher role to a T. Suggs and Merriman are more refined as of now. I loved Lawson but those damn 49ers snatched him out from under us! I wasn't a fan of Ware as a prospect but he proved he is a player with his rookie year. Inside Linebacker: Johnathon Vilma - James Farrior - D'Qwell Jackson - Nick Barnett Gotta give a nod to our best Linebacker and our former best linebacker. Through Bradway's stupidity we lost an MVP candidate in Farrior. Loved D'Qwell as an ILB prospect out of Maryland. Barnett is another young guy who can shift all over the place and is a tweener who could fit in well in the inside of the 3-4. Corner Back: DeAngelo Hall - Rashean Mathis - Antrell Rolle - Eric Green - Justin Miller Big props to the Hokie DBs here. Hall is now a legit #1 shutdown CB. Mathis can cover the bigger guys for Hall as he is like 5'10". Rolle will always get my vote for his play at Miami where he shut down Fitzgerald. Anyone who can do it as well as he did has got some skill. I liked Green as another sleeper CB when he came ou but we went Miller instead which was a good pick, I took him too. I think Green will develop into a very good #2 guy but never take over as a #1. Safety: Ed Reed - Brian Dawkins - Troy Polumalu - Erik Coleman Ed Reed can be the yin (ball hawk) to Dawkins yang (punisher). Slide Polumalu in for good measure as one of the highest energy players out there. I picked Coleman because he impressed so much during his rookie season I had to give him his props. Plus I wanted a younger guy who could stand to learn a little bit more. Kickers: Mike Nugent - Ben Graham Who did you expect? Returners: Dante Hall Even though Hall is in a little decline he will always be remembered for being unstoppable on returns a few years back. I do believe that is a full roster. Sorry for the length but it's the offseason, I figured I'd go all out!!
Here is what I would want my team to look like: QB: D.Mcnabb RB: S.Alexander WR: R.Moss,TO,Randel El FB: M.Alstott LT: W.Jones LG: A.Faneca C: K.Mawae RG:Adam Timmerman RT:Jon Jansen Defense. LE:J.Peppers DT:Kevin Williams,Rod Coleman RE:J.Abraham LOLB: L.Arrington MLB: J.Vilma ROLB:S.Foley CB: Ty Law, Champ Bailey FS: S.Taylor SS: T. Polamalu K.M.Nugent P.Ben Graham KR: D.Hall PR.C.Bailey Head Coach: J.Gruden
And no matter how much shit he says he ALWAYS backs it up on the field. He's the most exciting guy in the league by far.
Or he could just shut his mouth and realize that recievers are only as good as their QB's let them be. I prefer the Marvin Harrison, Jimmy Smith type recievers.
Ok that's your personal opinion and I respect that... but he's the exciting player with his touchdown dances and such that can make watching highlights on Sportscenter and such exciting.
