To hell with the second round pick, I'm hungry. Send me a deep dish with black olives, tomatoes and anchovies and I'll ship him free of charge.
Urlacher, Briggs and Berrian + their first round pick next year for Chad, McMisseseverything and Vilma. Otherwise no, I wouldn`t even bother.
Yeah, the LA thing was a big part of it. Those last four years were all I remember of Namath, I started watching in 1974 and we were bad. Any pass rush at all and it was a sack or an INT. I'm too young to remember, but I think drafting Richard Todd #1 in 1976 was what finally got the ball rolling for Joe's exit. Some of the older guys (if they're reading this thread  ) might want to clarify this, but I don't know if the Jets had sought a replacement prior to Todd. Jordan was the reason a lot of guys from that era didn't end up with titles. And the Jordan rules, of course.
You're on crack. Chad could start for at least half the teams in the league and be an improvement. He's a great fit for the Bears, Vikings, Chargers, Ravens, etc. I even say that if you put him on the Patriots for the past 5 years, he still wins at least one of those Superbowls.
We had excellent O lines every year except 05. He tore his shoulder in 04 when we had the league leader in rushing.
This is one of the funniest things I've heard in a while, and I just saw the Lord of the Rings episode of Flight of the Conchords. Thank you winstonbiggs.
I think you're missing about 10 teams. I think there's more than a good chance that he would start for the following teams: Houston Oakland Washington Tampa Miami Detroit Baltimore and a few more possibilites if these teams were worried about winning now rather than building for the future: Arizona San Fran NY Giants Denver Tennessee San Diego Pittsburgh I'm not saying Chad would DEFINITELY start for all of these teams or that even a fraction of these teams would consider trading for him, but I think it's reasonable to add these to your list of teams "he COULD start for" if given a fair shot at the starting job.
I'd rather take Mark Anderson (a guy BTW we should have drafted in the 06 draft with one of our 3rd round picks instead of Shlegel and Smith) off their hands and play him at OLB. They already have Alex Brown and Ogunleye.
I'm not disagreeing with you, just stating that they had to do something. I spend a lot of time out there, this is not a new thing. If Rex hasn't gotten any better by now he isn't going to.
Like I said, If we consider that teams need to prepare for the future, then no very unlikely. But in terms of ability to win right now, I think you can argue that Chad is competitive with those teams' QBs. I'm definitlely not saying that they would ever trade for Chad and start him. I'm just trying to make a point to those in this forum who forget that unlike most teams, we have a proven winner at QB. Not a Tom Brady level QB but someone who at this stage is probably going to give you a better shot at winning than Alex Smith
your list of qb's shows you know nothing about football!!! chad better than big ben??? rivers??? schaub, young, cutler and even eli!!! not only could he not compete with them, his noodle arm couldn't carry their jock straps!!!
