Two things that stick in my mind about Pryor: 1) Watching a highlight video of his rookie season, and a dropped interception making the video that was like 3 minutes long. Dropped as in hit him square in the hands and then he dropped it 2) when he fell over covering MARCUS MARIOTA and ruined our shut out. I was always rooting for Pryor and maybe he can turn it around with the Browns, but the writing was on the wall after our draft. Let's see how our coverage is this year with two rookie safeties... True, but he's probably better than Bruce Carter or Julian Stanford, so will give the Jets a little bit better depth. I don't think he played STs before, but with his speed, he could possibly be an asset on STs.
Except we added old dead weight, the worst kind. DD was worthless and we already have a worthless inside linebacker in D. Lee.
Fucking A that's a great list of WRs. WOuld have loved cooks, landry, robinson, or benjamin. We really need to draft some dam offense next year
I will only accept this trade as a success if we cut Davis and resign him for less money than we would have lost if we cut Pryor . Just shows how far pryors stock has fallen that we were willing to trade him for a lesser bust pick....
Lol, this situation went full circle. Honestly, great move by the Jets because it is a very flexible situation. Davis provided LB depth, but if the Jets decide to cut him they can do so and don't owe him a penny. Furthermore, Pryor was out the door once Adams and Maye were drafted. Also, Idzik was a monumental disaster as GM
I agree with this post with one possible are of disagreement. Your sentence that I bolded is really saying a lot. Yes, Idzik/Bradway were a disaster, but go back and look at the '86 - '92 drafts, especially '86 & '87. There were some good players taken during that period (even a broken clock is right 2 times a day), but overall it was absolutely brutal. Mike Haight, Roger Vick, Onzy Elam, Dave Cadigan, Reggie Rembert and then a whole slew of players who, to my recollection, never even made it onto the Jets' or any NFL team's roster. I'm just thankful that Idzik wasn't around any longer than he was and that Mac delivered us from Bradway. If Mac did nothing else right in his time here, he should get positive reviews for saving us from any more Bradway. http://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/nyj/draft.htm
Clinton-Dix is a very good player now, but at the time there were a number of question marks about him. I didn't like him, but loved Cooks and many of the WRs. I despised Amaro and was certain that he would be a bust.
Browns fans getting all excited like they just traded for Ed Reed. LOL Reminds me of when the Bills hired Rex Ryan.
Another incident of a numbers guy for a GM and a defensive minded coach(Rex) who could never evaluate talent, or for that matter coach it. Pryor a regular drafted bust, Davis was a solid backup who I thought played hard but could not cover anybody out of the backfield. Hey a headache is gone 8 to 10 more to go.
Pryor had an awful first year- decent on the rise second year- last year looked clueless for a 3 year vet. Good move, he was going to get cut anyway.
I wanted Marquise Lee, and while he has been somewhat injury prone, and plays with an inaccurate QB, still would've been a better selection along with the obvious Derek Carr miss.
Sheldon Richardson for a can of cat food up next. The Jets look like they're trying to take back the locker room at this point with the young alpha drafts and the vet releases/trades. Richardson is the obvious next target.
this is funny. i think calvin pryor would be a better lb than demario davis at this point. unless davis found that he has hips and they can move. he was one of the stiffest lbs i have ever seen.
