compare the jets to the redskins: geno= rg3, cousins= mcelroy, and rex grossman = el taco.

only the stupid guarantee/ cap hit is keeping el taco on the roster.

i have been saying that all along. maybe the perspective of a former player in the league can finally convince the " experts" here who say that his arm is too weak, he is too small, etc. ( all false!)

yes, the line really sucked that day. however, he took sacks rather than fumble/throw picks like el taco always does.

if he had started the titans game, they had a real shot at actually making the playoffs. hard to believe, isn't it?

i disagree, he had happy feet and was moving all over the pocket and got himself into trouble numerous times. the line was not terrible the qb was.

if a guard expects you to be in one location and then you move to the incorrect location for no reason its just not possible for the guard to block his man.

this is the type of behavior that got buddy ryan fired as a head coach in two places. rex learned defense, but not how to avoid the same mistakes his father made.

i can respect your opinion. we disagree in that:

if you're playing and see a guy coming through, you move in the hope of getting rid of the ball outside the box into the ground, or out-of-bounds, or try to scramble to pick up some yardage .

still, he didn't put it up for grabs, or on the ground like el taco does.

i do give him credit for not tossing it in the air. but it was surprising that a kid who had played football for so many years didnt understand how the protection worked.

i think fear was a portion of it too for him. he may be able to correct that issue but we will probably never know at this point.

I hope Sanchez plays lights out tomorrow. That's my wish and hope for every single player in a Jets uniform. Sitting around with a doom and gloom attitude " it's only a matter of time before he fucks up" does absolutely no good.

Its far better for Geno or any other member of the Jets to win the job by superior performance on a close competition than by default, because the competition sucks. All that gives us is mediocracy and a shitty team.

I though the idea is for once to move away from overreacting and playing those that actually win the competition and not those we want to win the competition.

The stiffer and stronger the competition the better the team will be.

The best we can hope for is for Mark to play 'well enough' to take the reigns early and give Geno a few more months of reps to really become competent.

Then, during the bye, Idzik trades his starting QB (never been done before) and starts the Geno era. Every 1st down Mark gets, every TD, every win during the 1st half of the season creeps Idzik higher and higher up the 2014 draft board with his 'Sanchez compensation package'.

Idzik would love to see MM build Mark up from an UDFA to a 2 round pick in a trade to some dumbass clueless team (edit: other than the bills). I wouldn't mind it either.

It's not a "doom and gloom" attitude to expect Sanchez to fuck up. He's fucked up constantly for the last 4 years, it's asinine to expect him to do anything different. We can all *hope* that Sanchez plays like the Warren Beatty possessed QB from 'Heaven Can Wait', and we can all *hope" to win powerball, but to expect either is just idiotic.

No team will ever trade anything for Sanchez. To think otherwise is beyond delusional. Anyone who wants to bet on this, I'm willing to lay odds and put money in escrow.

This. Sanchez has been in the league too long and everyone already knows he's a bust. It'd be like trading for Jamarcus Russel after his third season.

i shouldnt be surprised, i posted up position battle threads for every group on the team and every single one of them has fallen from the first page, even though this is the camp of position battles.... except the qb one.

I think you really only had to make threads for offense since the defensive side is almost set in stone.

I havent actually voted yet till the 1st or 2nd preseason game. Its not who I want, thats irrelevant, its who I think will help us win.

That's nonsense. You think Tebow or Mcelroy would have really done better last season? More Rex myths.
