It got exposed a bit today but i think where still fine. Sanchez just needs to do a better job and our O-line need's to come alive at some fucking point.

Clowney needs to step the fuck up in practice...his deep speed will add a much needed element to this offense

Also, we've had success this year with Keller split out wide. I wouldn't mind having him split out wide with Hartstock at TE...even on running plays that'd be a good formation

Good post, I think they should just use Keller as more of a 2nd receiver than a TE. The kid can't block...he just gets overpowered...so put him outside and let Hartsock block. Honestly, I havent paid enough attention to know how good of a blocker Hartsock is.

Well Hartsock certainly isn't the catching kind. Im pretty sure he's the blocking TE, not that I've paid any attention either. I just don't get it. We targeted Keller 4 times today. I think that number needs to double up if not more. We need to target him atleast 8 times.

And yeah, adding Clowney won't make our WR corps any worse. If anything, maybe he can convert his preseason play into an actual NFL game? He really needs to be sent in there. We need to use him in the next 4 games and hope that he is ready for the second half of the season as a #3 WR atleast.

When did you quit using your other SN? If you're trying to be clever and hide your identity, PrimetimeKid, you're doing a terrible job of it.

    holy fuckin mood swings.

no one was saying this when chansi played extremely well the first 3 games.

stuckey had a bad game. most of the offense did, including the offensive coordinator.

we'll be fine. this team is going to continually get better. as long as we stay healthy, we're going to be a force to reckon with on both sides of the ball.

you can't perfectly execute every single game. i'll take 3-1 all day long....as long as we take care of business against the cupcake part of our schedule this is going to be a great season.

aside from the game @ NE, the next 8 games aside from that are against very bad to mediocre teams. as long as the jets don't get complacent we'll be in good shape

One of the reasons Sanchez had such a bad play was because the receivers were so closely covered and couldn't get open.

The thing i hated seeing yesterday was the dink and dump offense and screens... that goes back to the Pennington era when they played safe football...

It's a mix of many things. Primarily the pass blocking was terrible, but I'm sure Sanchez missed some open receivers. Absolutely no reason why Keller got as little action as he did, and the lack of talent at WR lets us rely on Brad Smith to have to fight for a ball in the endzone which isn't in our favor unless it's some garbage corner covering him.

Braylon Edwards is an improvement over our WR's and would probably do good with a good offense and Jerricho Cotchery starting alongside.

That's not entirely true, Sanchez threw the ball downfield plenty of times.

It's simply the fact our offense, mainly Sanchez and the O-line were beat yesterday. Sanchez finally looked like a rookie and was his first time having to comeback from a real deficit. Take a few of the bad passes away and add some calls we should've gotten and it's a completely different game.

The defense was still dominant and our offense just got beat. Stuckey wasn't a problem in the first 3 games, especially the first game. Mark will learn plenty off this from the film, so in the long haul this will be a good thing. Cotch caught a 27 yard pass and Keller caught a 23 yard pass. The dink and dunk crap appeared what it was because our oline gave him almost no time.

What I took from this game is the offensive line is my biggest worry, they were great last year and we all expected the same or an improved line.

Again, I'm still surprised that Tannenbaum and Ryan haven't had Matt Jones come and workout for the team. The guy has TALENT.

Yeah, it showed today. Smith sucks as a WR and Stuckey was lost today. I guess Clowney is a pre-season WR only

I agree, and I didn't think Stuckey looked so great before yesterday, either.

And for those who say the OL and opposing D's stacking the line is a bigger problem, they are not unrelated to the team's lack of talent at wideout. Other than Cotch no one scares opponents. They can afford to stack the line, and that in turn makes the OL look worse than otherwise.

Sanchez's lack of experience is also a problem, but even there it's not a simple matter of blaming him for everything. Receivers who can get open and hold on when they catch it would make him look better, too.

THis team is just not going to get a lot of points from the O this year.

You know what happens when you build a championship team? You start with an incomplete product. We have a fantastic possession receiver in Cotch, an excellent receiving TE in Keller, and a very good option out of the backfield in Leon. Do we need another solid starter? Yes. But trading the farm for one would be idiotic. They made the right decision not trying to trade a ton for Edwards or Marshall.

I seem to recall you predicting a big game for Clowney.

    Heh.

Yeah, well, message board predictions are like scratch off cards. You hit one in every 20 you buy. Except message board predicitions don't cost me any money, so I can make as many as I want. Hehe.

Clowney, after not getting any PT yesterday, I expect he spent a lot of time with the scout team. Which of course does not usually end up in playing time on Sunday.

    Thilly me.

Well, I actually from what you posted was thoroughly expecting Clowney to shred the NO D all day long, and then I go the whole game without even seeing him on the field.

Oh wait! He did get in there. I just couldn't remember what he did.

At least you can laugh about it. Heh.

Can you refresh my memory? Because I don't remember being that expectant of Clowney this week.
