i would go with white. there is a lot of moving parts to this - some self inflicted by the jets, others not. i need to ride the white train as long as it goes. if that means keeping my first year #2 pick on the sidelines a couple more games i'm down with it.
I would say White as he gives the team the best chance to win. It doesn't matter who the QB is if the defense continues to get destroyed every week. Even in the win over the Bengals they gave up 31.
Doesn't matter. You always have to remember to ask yourself the right question. Not "what's the best solution?" or "what's the best chance of winning?". What's the Jetsiest thing they can do?...find a way to lose harder. Like the last couple weeks.....shit season....fans just hoping they're competitive...embarassing blow out....fans in despair....shocking win....fans have hope....crushing blow out extra punishing for those who wanted to enjoy some hope. It's not enough to lose. They have to punish anyone who has any interest in a positive outcome for them. Whichever QB they put out there will get hurt after 3-4 quarters of play and the other one will be forced to play but only after the coaches previously gave a full throated endorsement of the first guy making the 2nd guy seem like a disappointing option. 2nd guy will then get hurt after a game or 2 and first guy will have to go play again nicked up and will look like shit because he's banged up and tentative ruining the confidence of both QB's. all the while the defense gets taken to pound town again and again. Dear Johnson brothers....when you're done quaffing your own farts....Sell the franchise you incompetent fuckwits. Spoiler: they'll never be done quaffing their own farts
Whoever is the healthiest throughout the week should play against Buffalo. I am not sure it matters. Play White the first half and when we are down by 30 play Zach against the prevent?
We have zero chance to win against the Bills. The best chance to keep from being a blow out is more like it. You can't win in the NFL when the opponent scores a TD on every drive .
Mike has earned the shot for now. If he falters, plenty of time left in the season to get Zach back in there.
Definitely sit the rookie who is struggling. Let him compete for the job in camp next year. The Jets should have had a competition not a coronation in camp this year. They keep making the same stupid mistake.
Guys are drafted highly for a reason. It obvious Wilson has more arm talent than White but White clearly has the advantage on him between the ears at this point, as you would expect from a 4th year pro. You've gotta agree that the situations with Sam and Zach are drastically different though, right? So I'm not sure that's a fair comparison. One's a QB who was statistically one of the worst QB's in the league for 3 years and one is a rookie QB who has struggled, mightily I might add, for 5 games with the lone exception of the Tennessee game. I agree that it's possible White turns out to be a better QB than Wilson but I think Wilson should have a chance to play again when he's 100% after seeing what White and Johnson have been able to accomplish in this offense the last 2 weeks.
White… from here forward until he proves otherwise. Being picked #2 certainly doesn’t guarantee success. I hope Zach becomes great. But I am more interested in seeing where it goes with white right now.
White plays until Zach proves he's a better option. As a fan, I dont care where you were drafted. If you can win games, the job is yours. I also don't think that LaFleur going up to the booth was some kind of magical offensive pill. I think White understood what the defenses were giving him and it made everything on the offense look better.
After the game white played last week, I’m not sure how anyone would want to see anyone else. It was one game, but a good enough one that makes it worth seeing what white can do. But then again, high draft picks always succeed, and it’s not like a 5th or 6th rounder ended up being better than the #1 or 2 that was already there.. right?
Buffalo- White/Johnson/Flacco (don't rush Zach back) Miami- Wilson/White Johnson after that it should be Wilson if he can learn to take the easy check-downs...
for some reason, wilson does not like to attack the middle of the field ... he didnt do it often in college and hes not doing it in the pros that is the biggest difference in the offenses led by white mike and zack
It's a really tough decision now. Last night was ideally going to be more decisive for whether to continue playing Mike White or go back to Zach, but his injury and the Josh Johnson lighting it up (albeit in garbage time), were very unexpected developments. JJ and White both looked a lot better than Zach for sure though I have to wonder if any of this has to do with LaFleur's move upstairs. My feeling is that might be overstated and is more the improved QB play, but it is a question. Personally, if healthy, I'd probably play Mike White. And if he shows well against the Bills, then you have to keep playing him. I just find it hilarious that everyone thought the Jets backup QB situation as an abomination and after two games they both looked fantastic. JD shouldn't have doubted himself and traded for Flacco! What's the return policy on that?
But why switch back to Wilson if White is playing the way he is? Wilson needs to sit and learn for 1-2 years….White has already done that and looks to have the IQ. Wilson literally cannot complete a simple 5 yard pass atm….
