Can you tell us why you think the Panthers might advance to the NFCCG past the Cardinals and Seahwaks? Any deep thoughts on that one?
Just a hunch mostly. Plus the fact that I think the Seahawks are overrated (mostly because of their "Jet-reject" coach). And the fact that none of their receivers would probably start even for us....Wilson and Lynch are legit, and their defense is obviously good, but I don't think they have enough to repeat. They are a plodding team, not explosive enough, could get caught in a low-scoring game with a team like the Panthers, and end up getting nipped...
Ok, have to agree that the Seahawks are definitely overrated, and the offense is extremely one-dimensional with the exception of Wilson always being able to make a play. I wouldn't be shocked if Carolina beat Arizona, but going into Seattle and coming out with a victory is another story.
Seahawks D is seriously legit. Lowest points given up 254 AND number 1 total yards 3 against the run and 1 against the pass. (Unlike a Rex defense who may rank top 10 in yards against but be in the high teens for points against) Only gave up more than 20 5 times. Last 6 games points against ( 3, 3, 14, 7, 6, 6) I actually think the Panthers are the best chance of a team that can go to Seattle win. (Cowboys 2nd). They have the running game (not just backs but Cam) to control the clock and the defense to keep it close. I think a passing team like Green Bay will get smoked. I don't think Seattle is overrated -- They are the best team. I do think that Carolina is underrated (top 10 running and top 10 defense) -- They have he last few weeks started looking a lot more like the team that went 12-4 last year. (They only lost 13-9 to the Hawks earlier this year -- when neither team was in top form).
....unfortunately Marrone looks like a done deal now, so we have to wait probably 2-3 years before this Kotite/Al Groh clone is gone... ....oh well, at least we have the NFL playoffs right now, FA and the NFL draft after that, then the best part of the NFL, fantasy football! I'm 1-1 so far in this contest...looking forward to today's games!
I know he's not playing today, but is there a more overrated player in the NFL right now than A.J. Green? He drops passes, comes up small in big spots, and is frail and injury prone. Yet there are fans that think he's the greatest thing since sliced bread. I don't get it. Maybe he was popular in college or something?
This cannot be the furthest from incorrect. Green is probably one of the 5 best WR's in the NFL right now. Injury prone?? He played 15, 16, and 16 games his first three seasons. Also 2011 -- 65 for 1057 yards - 7tds 2012 -- 97 for 1350 yards - 11 tds 2013 -- 98 for 1426 yards - 11tds Catching passes from Andy fucking Dalton Made Pro Bowl all 4 years of his career
Here are A.J. Green's stats in the playoffs over his career: 2011: 5 rec - 47 yds - 0 TD (12 targets) 2012: 5 rec - 80 yds - 0 TD (11 targets) 2013: 3 rec - 34 yds - 0 TD (9 targets) 2014: OUT with injury (concussion) So, in the biggest games he comes up small. Puts up big garbage time stats in the regular season. The A-Rod of the NFL lol.
Ha, ha your right, I'm already 0-3. ...and don't ever stand in line behind me at the store because I end up behind some little old lady paying $37.78 in pennies one at a time with 14 coupons.
Do you really watch football? He has averaged over 1200 yards and almost 9 TD's per season in each of his 4 years. The Jets haven't had a receiver put up over 1000 yards since 2007. He also only missed 1 game due to injury before this year. I know stats don't tell the whole story but the 4,500+ yards over 4 seasons and only 1 game missed prior to this season seem to blow your whole post away. I would take Green over any receiver the Jets have had in the last 10 years.
You conveniently ignored my second post, so I'll paste it here: Here are A.J. Besides his epic fails in the playoffs 3 straight years, 4 if you count the fact that he can't help his team if he's on the sidelines, the guy is a finesse player....tall, thin, frail. It's a miracle he hasn't been hurt more; he looks like he's one big hit away from snapping like a pretzel. He's put up big regular season stats, but he always seems to fail in the big spots. Not a clutch player, not a difference maker in big games.
