schotty doesn't drop passes and let go of the ball when a receiver is trying to pry it away. or commit 10 yard holding penalties when the team is driving in the opponent's territory Holmes dropped 2 easy passes for 1st downs, on 3rd down..the most critical being the one after that great brad smith run to start the 2nd half. And don't get me started with cotchery. he's been amazing his entire jet career but today he was absolutely awful. it doesn't matter what you call if your players don't execute. we deserved to lose that game. it was a perfect storm of shit except for the defense -3 on turnovers, you're going to lose the game
4:00 to go, 1st and 10 Jets ball, Down 6-0... Brian Schottenheimer calls a quarterback sneak for 2 yards? WTF was that? That cost us a down right there and literally got us in stupid situation. Lets not blame Sanchez in this one... TWICE the packers DB's took the ball away from our receivers. He was effective and those passes to our guys that were dropped absolutely crushed us. This loss falls on our inept and star-studded wide receiving core
Was Shonn Greene inactive? Just wondered seeing shit for brains schittenheimer seemed to ignore him all game. Worst called offensive game I have ever seen , what the fuck was the Qb hurry up call after the keller completion?? Lets pray for the day that Hackett Jr fucks off and lets Callahan run this offense. 9 pts and we lose...wtf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!aaaaarrrrgggghhh!!!
At the end of the day... (Schotty related) Everyone here does realize that Schotty is here to stay the remainder of the season, correct? He is not going to get fired mid-season, it just won't happen.
The critical play that epitomized Schotty's ineptitude was the 3rd&8 at the end of the game: It's obviously 4 Down territory, so we have 2 plays to get 8 yards. For some asinine reason, Schotty calls a play in which a WR (Cotchery) runs a route to the endzone with the LoS around the 30. Thus, he calls a play in which one of the WRs runs a 30-yard route when only 8 yards are needed to keep the game alive. WHY CALL THAT PLAY? Why even give Sanchez the option, why make him consider throwing the ball to the endzone?? That option should've been eliminated by not having a WR running to the endzone in the first place. Of course, there are a lot of factors - 22 rush attempts, drops, and the Defense (if yer Junc) - that led to this loss, but that 3rd Down play was a microcosm of all of Schotty's bullshit.
schotty made some shitty calls, but how about our players catching balls? or these outrageous interceptions not happening?
I completely agree with you there, and like I said in a previous post in this thread, not only was it Cotchery, but Edwards was in the end zone on that play too. Schotty called a play on a 3rd and 8 in 4 down territory where not 1 but 2 of our WRs ran 30 yard routes.
If the plays were executed correctly Sanchez probably goes over 300 yards today. Studs like Cotchery and Holmes played like shit but Schotty will be the scapegoat. Next time I hear that no 300 yard passing games stat I'm gonna punch a baby in the face.
if youre talking about the play after the keller catch all i could think of was that they wanted to get a quick play off so GB couldnt have the play reviewed
Shit happens. I like how our defense played. Our offense can't get any worse than what it showed today so we should all expect a bounce back for next week. Lets go JETS!
Someone obviously thought Sanchez was close enough to the line of scrimmage for the Packers to challenge. This decision had to be made in real time without a look at the replay because the play had to be run before the Packers had a chance to see the replay. It looks bad in hindsight and because we have a huge blue line on the T.V. showing where the line of scrimmage is. The Jets sideline had neither of these aids on that call.
I said this in previous threads: Best case scenario: Schotty is offered a HC position in the offseason...the Jets promote Callahan.
