Could have given in? What does that even mean? It's 2nd and 3rd, two outs, an inexperienced pitcher, and the reigning NL MVP coming up. There is absolutely no reason to pitch to Howard, whether it's April or October. In case you didn't know, a loss to the Phillies now counts just as much as one in September.
