Because hes arguably the most talented player in the entire draft. I'd have a hard time imagining a scenario in which McFadden is there at seven and the Patriots dont take him; I guess maybe if Gholston were also available since they need LB help, but I cant imagine that Gholston and McFadden would both still be on the board.
I think if the first 6 teams pass on him, the pats will too. They need too much on Defense. If he is that good, why is he never mentioned at #1 overall even though Ronnie Browns' knees are shot. The Raiders need him too, the Falc's signed the Chargers backup just to avoid the discussion. Where there is smoke there is fire.
If we somehow were able to draft Long and fix our cornerback need in round 2- I would take our defense over any other defense in all of football- For 08 and beyond. A young core (minus Jenkins) of defensive playmakers in Jenkins, Pace, Rhodes, Revis, Harris, Long= Best in all of football
Some team will trade into the top 10 for DMAC...especially if he drops into our lap at #6. There is the usual hoopla of Jerry Jones having a woody for him...but apparently Detroit is sniffing around as well. I'd be eccstatic if we drafted Chris Long....but as far as DMAC going to the Pats..I don't see it happening...the Pats will trade out or select somebody else....their defense is up near my dad's age.
I don't know if that holds a candle to what Dallas or San Diego has... as well as PIT. It can get us to top 12, but not #1.
Now I know why people pick on PFW..that draft borders on bizarre and has about as much chance of happening as I do being their starting QB next year.
Sorry, but the latest reports out of Miami are saying that he'll be ready to go..... IN TUNA WE TRUST!!!!!!
I agree, those additions will makes us much better, but how about we watch them play a game before we start talking best D in football.
