I like the idea of the C Patterson in the 3rd. Perfect match of need and value.
Anyone mocking Stingley in the top 10 is dead to me.

I can’t stand the mocks showing Stingley to the Jets…..they don’t need to draft a CB especially that high.

You take Neal if it falls like that. Realistically, Hamilton could still be there at 10 but OL is more important for us.

Why? We could certainly do a lot worse. I'd rather get an Edge than a S, but Hamilton would help our secondary a lot both in terms of coverage and in terms of being an enforcer.

I love the Thibodeaux, Petit-Frere, and Smith picks, but not wild about the rest. Never heard of Ford or Lake. I think we need to get an OG earlier. I'd look to take an OG at #71 instead of Patterson. I'm not very high on him at the moment, but that could change.

Don't care for PFF or PFN mock draft machine so I use The Draft Network. Took my first stab at a mock. For some reason, Dean was there at 38 but I went with Harris because I don't think Dean will be there in round 2 for us.

Spending 2 top 10 picks on low impact positions would be quite a waste of that top tier draft capital...... I would much rather get the safety room figured out in free agency than taking Hamilton at 4th.

It's not something I would normally be in favor of, and I still would rather trade down if we can't get the players we want and need at Edge and WR, but neither C nor S are low impact positions. The C is the captain of the OL. Centers generally call blocking assignments, and since pressure up the middle is the most devastating to a QB, C is a key position. Hamilton is a playmaker. He excels in coverage and is also very good against the run, and is a bit of an enforcer. Since we don't have a ballhawk at CB, he would improve our secondary and also improve our run defense. That would have a big impact on our D.

To be clear, I'm hoping for one of Hutchinson or Thibodeaux at #4 and perhaps a trade down a few spots from #10, adding a 2nd and a 3rd and then taking Burks. I'm not going to hold my breath on that happening. If we wind up with two excellent prospects in Linderbaum and Hamilton, I'm not gonna cry.

We'll just have to agree to disagree.

He was the best value available at the position.

With a total of sixteen draft picks using one to shore up the QB position was a reasonable risk.

Zach has already missed time to injury and has not proven to me that he is they guy.

Traded the 10th and our 1st in 23 to go back to back DE's how could you not lol traded back to grab a 2nd and third from the Steelers in 23 to compensate, probably a high second and not much difference between our first after becoming champions :)
