Its comments like that that make me laugh at people like this. Seeing where your at when the time comes in sports doesn't get you anywhere. Good Job.
as much as i hate getting pulled into this Favre debacle, i just can't leave well enough alone, and must play devils advocate. do to the fact of the Giants entering the season as superbowl champs. the Jets and Giants set to share a new stadium,in 2010 the Jets asking rediculous $ for PSL's the 2nd class citizen status in NY/NJ would'nt it be a coup for the Jets to make the biggest splash in the NFL, by signing Favre, and keeping the media focused on them all season? not to mention giving them a legitimate chance to put the finishing touches on a "win now" off season, and RIDE THIS FUCKIN' WAVE RIGHT INTO THE SUPERBOWL!!!!!!! holy shit, i think i've got sun stroke!
If I remember correctly, there was a quarterback by the name of Warren Moon. Late in his career, he was traded to the Minnesota Vikings after the season, where he passed for over 4,200 yards in each of his first two seasons, and for 33 TD's in '95, but missed half of the 1996 season with a broken collarbone. Let's get this deal done and bring in Fav-Re. One year, two years, three?? I don't care. I want W's!!! Call me selfish...
I don't understand people's hatred for Favre? This trade is crazy, but what's all this Boomer talk? Do you REALLY want to put Boomer in the same sentence as Favre? Favre had an excellent year last year when he was supposed to be "done," I like Kellen, but if Favre ever became available, the Jets would be crazy not to pursue. You people keep thinking Chad will be better.
i'm all for trading for favre. i am sick and tired of fielding a sub par team year in and year out. this team needs a qb, plain and simple.
i don't hate favre, i don't think anybody who's against the trade is hating on favre, the man's a legend. but it'd be crazy to trade anything for him especially a draft pick.
To Hell with Brett Favre. We don't even know what this o-line is going to do yet and the one thing we can be sure of is that Favre, in bad situations, makes horrible decisions that costs games for the team. We're talking about a QB who is well beyond the twilight of his career and had a pick fair caught by Deion Sanders a few years ago. This is a guy who took a very talented Packers team with a great OLine, great running game and great defense into the playoffs and proceeded to murder its shot at a Superbowl with the extreme prejudice you'd probably inflict upon some guy you walked in on while he was banging your wife by making one of his classic bonehead interceptions. The guy's an idiot who does well with talent around him. Since we don't know exactly what kind of team we have yet I think it's best to leave the deep playoff-run speculations out of the picture for now.
1st off why would Green Bay trade for Penny? They already have Rogers, Brohm and Flynn. Now Flynn may be practice squad material but I think long term Brohm is their QB. At best Penny is their 3rd option. Green Bay would definately be asking for more than a 3rd rounder. This is up there with worst thread of the year.....
So career year numbers and then he can't decide if he should retire or not and he's beyond the twilight of his career. What does that mean? Is it 4 a.m. in Brett's career? Hell, it's 5 o'clock somewhere.
