I'm sorry but the image of a wide open Laverneus Coles to CHads left on that great interception by Uhrlacker bugs me. Unless the guy who started this thread is a surgeon and put a friggin bionic arm into chad its silly to expect him to put up marino yardage., Im hopin he plays at least as well as the first two games this year.
I'd actually like to see his TD % in the red zone, and TDs per number of possessions stats as compared to other QBs. I think this is a better stat than QB rating, yards, etc. This and INT #s and % are probably the most important stats for QBs. I have a hunch that Chad's numbers are pretty low across the board. That's a positive for INTs, but when you don't put up the TD totals it makes each INT more damning. A guy that puts upt 30 TDs can afford 10 INTs and still have a good season, a guy that puts up 10 TDs really can't have 10 INTs.
He's QB rating in the opponents Red Zone this year is 54.3 with 3TD and 2 INT's. Chad has always been good at protecting the ball up until this year in the red zone, outside of 02 he has also always been a below average QB in throwing TD's. As a comparrison Drew Brees another QB with a similiar arm has also thrown 2 red Zone INT's but he has thrown twice as many TD in the red zone with 6. The QB that really seperates himself from the pack is Brady, While Brady has had some bad games, in the Red Zone he is a TD machine. He currently has 16 TD and no INT's in the red zone. Rex Grossman, another QB who throws balls up for grabs has 9 TD to 1 INT in the red zone. Eli Manning has 9TD's and O INT's in the red zone. Joey Harrington has 2 INT's in the Red zone this year, he also has 9 TD's. The fact is Chad outside of 02 has never been a guy who throws many TD's. You would expect that he doesn't turn the ball over in the red zone because he clearly doesn't throw the ball into the end zone that often. The fact is he has been lousy in the red zone this year and he wasn't any good in the red zone in 03 or 04.
Chad usually steps up against weaker teams. His QB rating should be great with all the passes to the FB! SB WINS are the only stat that matters! You can have CHAD with great QB ratings and no rings yet. And I doubt he will ever win one with us. I think he is an average QB, at best!
Well, Chad is about to pass 300 yards on this game. We're going to lose. Especially since we have no running yards and all. Stupid pass for 300 yards and lose rule!
This game doesnt count in the Chad Haters eyes because we are playing the Texans. They forget that this game ever existed and bring up irrelevant stats from previous games.
Once again Chad shows he has what it takes to throw the ball down the field. I have a feeling certain posters won't be around tomorrow. Busy at work. Yeah that's it.....
Yeah he did well but keep in mind that he was playing against the TEXANS. Show me consistency against a team with a halfway decent defense and then I'll annoint him as a player turning the page. A win is definitely a win, but I'm not jumping on the "Chad is God" bandwagon yet....
Chad hater here. I always thought Chad against this schedule was good for 9 to 11 wins. It was nice to see him play better today and keep us in the hunt. I still think he is mediocre but this year against this schedule gives us enough to possibly make the playoffs. The Jets have a pretty good team and Chad just has to not screw it up. Today he was better with the ball and made some key plays. That's all he has to do.
Last week supporters were using the Bears D as a crutch to excuse CP's poor performance. This week, anti CP posters will point out the horrendous D that he was able to carve up in the form of the Texans. Pennington played a good game today. People should enjoy it. It does not erase the poor performances he's put forth for the last month or so. He still needs to show up against a quality opponent and put points on the board. If he takes this team to the playoffs, he might get a shot to do just that.
After Sean Alexander put on a running clinic Monday night against the Pack, I can see why we would want to run, run, run. Go Leon! :jets:
