So the only way to satisfy some people is for Chad to throw for 300 yards and 3 or 4 TD's against a team like Chicago? Got it.
No, the way to please us is for him to be consistent during the season, without excuses, and possibly have his TD's be greater than his interceptions. Are we asking so much, as we approach the 11th game of the season?
rofl. i didnt say anything about stats or what he should be producing. if i even have to explain why i think chads play has been unsavory as of late, that explains alot. so have fun
Actually, I'm convinced that no matter what the guy does, people around here will still complain about something he does. It's in our very nature as Jets' fans.
You're off base with that statement. Right now, he's playing like total shit, when you consider the last 6 games. If he has been putting up halfway decent #'s, what makes you think that we would be jumping on his back?
lol no i like the guy and hes the reason were competing. but as of late his play isnt up to par. as in he cant even top 200 yds passing, more INT's than TD's hes making bad reads and even throwing inaccurately. im not asking him to put up monster stats, but he doesnt even look like a "cerebral/accurate qb" which is what his strong suits are.
No. Some people who have rooted for Chad would be happy with a 1 TD, 0 INT for about 200 yard performance in close win in Chicago. They would be happy with good decisions and accuracy in the short to medium passing range. I don't see what's so difficult to understand. Chad's strong suits have always been his good decision making and his accurate throwing which has lead to an excellent completion percentage, TD/INT ratio, and therefore good QB rating. It's obvious that for this season (taken as a whole) his completion percentage, YPA, TD/INT ratio are all down. Without these positives Pennington's value is severely limited. I have always liked Pennington and have never said he sucks, should be immediately benched, etc. I happen to think that a smart, accurate QB that can throw the short - medium pass well (with a couple of long, well placed passes sprinkled in) can lead a team to the SB. However, the resent trend has been disturbing. He is doing things that he traditionally has not in the past. It might be because his arm is permanently weakened or its temporarily getting weaker as this season progresses (and might be back to his "normal" state after an additional off-season). Either way, if he continues his poor play this season I see no reason why not to speculate on whether it makes sense to bring in KC should (and I hope this doesn't happen) the Jets far out of playoff contention.
Aside from MrNYNoodle himself and RaiderJeaux, about everyone was on board with him after the first 2 games. There was probably a good group of people that were going to remain cautious, but I think for the most part everyone was happy to see him come out and do good. He really has to turn around his play though. I cannot complain about a bad performance against the Bears. Good QB's are going to get beat by good defenses. No one can expect him to have a monster day, but he is appearing to be poorer than poor against them. Maybe it is just a slump. We will have to be patient and wait and see. Obviously, the coaching staff is still in his corner, and they would know what is going on more than anyone.
We really need it GM. I'm not sure about 300 yards though. After the last two games I know Mangini is going to change things up. We're starting to see what are running attack is. I'm so sick of teh god damn dump off passes. It just can't continue.
Chad will be very good the rest of the way. No doubt about it. The tough defenses always have and still do give him trouble though. He seems to try and do to much and make stupid choices. We don't need him to throw for 3 or 4 TD's against the bears but if he hits coles for the TD instead of getting picked off and gets us that extra ten yards the two or three times we were in borderline field goal range then I would consider it a great game. Against tough defenses you just have to do enough to win and try not to shoot yourself in the foot with mistakes.
They simply have the Jaguars' number. 6-4 all time vs Jacksonville 15-49 vs the rest of the league (The Titans and Dolphins are the only other teams they have beaten more than once.)
Luckily, I am not going to see him. Back to ignore he goes. mr nyjet/The Noodler- Due to your incessant moronic posts you are dead to me for an indefinite period of time.
Chad throws over 200 yards on Sunday and at least 1 TD, with 0 or 1 INT. He will play solidly, I don't think he'll lose the game for use like he did last Sunday. I also think there's the possibility that he will do WAY better on Sunday than I am predicting....but I can say for sure that I know he won't flop.
