He is the best option to win now and stay competitive so the young players and rookies can develop as an effective unit during a rebuilding period - starting a rookie QB right now would be a disaster. You saw how little time Chad had to throw. Do you think for one second that this FO will keep him in there if Clemens passes him in game-winning ability? No way. I like Chad a lot but I personally don't see him as being the long-term solution, and neither did the FO or they would not have traded up for Clemens in the first place.
In that case, I'll compare Chad to Phil Simms. But of course you'll laugh at that, not realizing how ridiculous your comment on Ramsey was.
I'm just trying to understand your gripe with Pennington...MOST of your posts have to reflect about him and his arm or bad play or whatever... Is there a reason you don't critisize Robertson? Or McCareins? Everything with you is Pennington...
Boy, you have the memory of a flea. Pennington carried the Jets on his shoulders last week. He WAS a one man show and the Jets won solely because of his play. It's incredible to me that Pennington gets all the blame and none of the credit from the Chad haters. The Jets are down 24-0 because the defense can't get off the field, the Jets can't run or pass block, the punter can't punt, and the DBs can't keep their hands off receivers on 3rd down. All Pennington's fault!!! Pennington completes an unbelievable pass to Cotchery by throwing a 45 yard rope with incredible accuracy while falling down with a defender wrapped around his legs and its a great play by Cotchery alone. Jets win - they beat a bad team. Jets lose - Pennington can't beat a good team. You are pathetic. Rooting against your own team and its QB because you want to be right. Pathetic.
if you check, i also pointed out how much better the defense seemed to play with mosley and moore at nt after robertson was taken out. i referrred to justin before as mccatchless. i would have cut both, but maybe mangini can salvage justin yet.
Well, Plunkett did play with the 49ers between his days with the Patriots and Raiders. I guess technically you may have been correct by saying he got cut by the Patriots and won SBs with the Raiders. However, I'm sure you thought Plunkett went directly from the Patriots to the Raiders. So, this and not knowing the score at the end of quarter 3 of Sunday's Jets game brings your tally to two factual errors tonight. (It's possible you made more than that tonight but I haven't the time to check all your posts.)
As for Ramsey - when will you and others that it takes far more than just an arm to be an NFL QB. As for Plunkett, the reason he won was because he went from a horrible team with no OL, running game or defense to one of the best teams in the league. He never ever carried the Raiders on his back or was the one man show you claim to admire. With the Raiders, his job was to manage the game and avoid mistakes. Your football knowledge is sorely lacking.
Ok. 1st The Jets were losing 24-0 after 3 quarters... And CJ Mosely was Inactive. I suggest a new pair of glasses.
since you are such a chad fan, you try to twist everything around. just because someone does not share your chad fetish, does not mean we root for an injury or the team to lose. it's patheteic how the chad cult uses smear tatics to paint anyone who doesn't share the chad fetish as not true fans of the team.
I had thought BadgeronLSD had the post of the night (either in this thread or the other Noodler thread) and then I saw 127 and 129! Those posts are worthy of Post of the Year nominations, if such an award exists.
I was just informed by the admin of another Jets board that Ms. NYJet is actually an old man...NO JOKE! This has gone from annoying to very very sad
C-Man - I expect more out of you than for you to be carrying the torch for Mr NY Jet. Yes, I agree that two games do not make a season, but you can tell quite a bit from these two games. You can tell that Pennington's arm is as strong as ever and that he hasn't lost the decision-making ability and smarts that made him so good in 2002. You can also see that he is carrying this offense right now. Nobody is saying he is the league MVP, but you lose credibility when you refuse to admit that he is playing at an extremely high level this season and that you and many others not only didn't expect that, but expected him to be unable to throw more than 10 yards, to wilt under pressure, and to get hurt the first time he got hit. Why can't you just admit you underestimated Pennington's arm, guts, ability, and heart?
Don't lump Cman in with mr nyjet. Cman actually backs up his thoughts with coherent arguments. And he is right about this season being far from over.
