    Talk, talk, talk!!!!!
CP is an 8+ million salary cap hit next year ... the Jets will not pay a back-up that kind of money!!!! I don't think he's in the Jets long range plans.
He's probable the second best JETS QB. :jets:

Wow, great post. So then Vince Young (10-6) and eli manning(10-6) are elite qb's? How about watching the games to see how qb's play rather then just looking at the team's win-loss record.

Nit pick it as you may, if not for CP last year there was no way we make the playoffs.

His 17 T/D and 16 Int made the diff? We made the playoffs with a weak Schedule and reality checked in this year. Or are you of the opinion that we actually had a good team last year?

    Do not even bother.

You/we can not see how anyone thinks Chad is more than a below average that can not make throws required of an NFL QB and they can not see how you/we can not see he is Dan Marino reincarnated.

Your right? I can not even believe people defend him. He is the most overrated Jet of all time and maybe the most overrated Ny Sports Figure ever!

Unless we had someone better in which case we would have made the playoffs and possibly advanced. Nit pick all you want Chad was okay last year and has been terrible this year. The last time he was a solid QB was in 04 before Buffalo.

The Chiefs went to the playoffs last year with Huard as their QB.

I would be a top ten QB with all the "right conditions" Chad had in 2002.

How do you call the most accurate passer in the HISTORY of the league below average? Go through his statistics, show me where they are below average? Is he Marino, nope, not close. If you surround him with the right talent, call the right plays/run the right system...he is very good. If you don't do these things, he is not as good....hence this season.

Also, what throw can he not make? Again, if you shorten the field on him and give him no running game and keep running the same plays...yeah the defense will know what is coming and jump the routes. If you have 1/2 a brain and you throw the ball deep 4x per game and pump fake on the outs you eliminate most of the problems. To view this exclusively as a CP problem is just really short sighted.

I guess that means you are better than Vinny too.

    Brady
    P. Manning
    Romo
    McNabb
    Palmer
    Brees
    Roethlisberger

    maybe
    Garrad
    Favre is almost done
    Hasselbeck
    Bulger

    (jury is still out)
    Cutler
    Young
    Anderson
    Rivers
    E. Manning

The QB situation in the NFL is shaky at BEST, although Chad has his limitations, you can win with a decent team behind him....put Brady behind the Jets OL and he'd win 10 games....but he would be possibly on IR....

If Chad threw the ball deep 4 times a game his rotator cuff would shred into millions of pieces. If Chad pumped fake on the outs, safeties around the league would have time to chuckle as he lofted the ball over the top of the corner (maybe). A pump-fake wouldn't fool most. Besides, isn't Chad's pump fake a weird looking shoulder thrust anyway?

Chad had his best season in 2002 with a great O-Line, great defense, and a HOF RB in Curtis Martin as has been said before. Since then, we have lost all of those pieces and his throwing shoulder has come under the knife twice and now his ankles are getting repeat injuries.

He has one of the best completion percentages in NFL history (1st or 2nd I think) and is 7th on the all time QB rating list. lock it up

Too bad the longest completion for the JETS this year was by Chad and it was by far the best deep ball thrown all year by a JETS QB. The pump fake worked last year on the slant and go, but I guess everything just fell apart on him this year?

Oh, I'm impressed he beat the kid by one yard for longest completion. Well maybe the JETS would do good to let him keep pump faking. I don't know. I sure wouldn't mind a few more touchdowns though.

Once again, great in 2002 with great pieces around him. Since then, mediocre with injuries.

He also had more completions over 20 yards. The point of your post is Chad can't throw the ball over 5 yards.

Obviously the Jets don't think Kellen is the answer at this point and have good reason for their decision. Let him compete in camp next year, but I think he will be a backup if that happens unless he is competing against a 2nd day rookie.
