when you look at players like holmes, cromartie, and mason all who took less to come here its a real slap in the face to leave for whats prolly no more then a couple of hundred thousand more especially when you played for said team for 11 years and then go to there most hated rival

at least in jason taylors case he never got an offer from miami and he was going to from the slum of the nfl to a title contender for ellis its a lateral move

Ellis wasn't cut, we already had that spot on the 53, for Roth.

He may have simply been offered a starters role in NE, and only offered a back up spot here.

I know they're always prepared for a thing like this, but you have to assume the FO thought he'd be back. It makes sense the Pats would take him. They see him the most, he's had some of his best games against them, and he fits in their personnel. It's a good pick up. I think he still has something left in the tank. It'll hurt to see him in that God awful uni, but it is what it is. See ya.

C;mon man. We offered Taylor a pretty good contract for someone his age, and now he's back in Miami. It's pretty clear he would have stayed in Miami if they offered him the same 2.2 million.

Looks like it could. Rex really likes his picks, huh? Hopefully Ropati can make the roster and contribute. He looks like he can be a player.

This whole offseason worries me, the way we're taking a **** on longtime vets like Cotchery and Ellis in favor of new, flashy toys. I mean we're talking about the two longest-tenured Jets who could still play, it's not a case of dumping them when they outlived their usefulness. It just doesn't send a good vibe in the room for this year.

It's a slap in the face? You think he's doing this to you personally? He's looking out for himself and his family. "Only a couple of hundred thousand" is a statement that's true in terms of the salary cap but absurd if you use it to dismiss someone's income.

If Mike Devito is the best we can do starting a rookie along side him we are fucked...
