Woodhead on the Jets = Welker on the Fins.

This isn't going to end well.

I'm under 35 but somehow was smart enough to notice this.

Oh and I agree with you on Woodhead just wants to play, and the Jets gave him 3 years to prove himself enough on the practice field to play in games, which he did a little. How is having a player for roughly 3 years not giving him a chance? Every player has to prove themselves in practice before it is determined if they are capable of big playing time in a game, you don't just throw guys in the fire to "give them a chance".

Except Welker was traded for a 2nd and 7th, so he actually had value.

Woodhead was picked up for free off the couch.

Stolen from a random google link:

The Patriots traded their 2nd and 7th round choices in the 2007 draft to Miami for Welker.
The Dolphins used the 2nd round choice for C/G Samson Satele. Satele, who started at center and played with an injury in 2008 (torn labrum). He was then traded after that season to the Oakland Raiders for a 2008 6th round draft choice.

The Dolphins used the 7th round choice to draft DE Abraham Wright. The Dolphins converted Wright to LB, but he had a knee injury and was placed on IR in 2007. After the 2008 draft the Dolphins waived him.

    Welker was traded in 2007.

In 2006 with the Dolphins he had 67 receptions for 687 yards and was a great return specialist. Most of his best games came against New England too, so he was more than a special teamer at that point in his career.

Ok, explain Joe McKnight then. Prove it right, or is it just politics? A guy that works his ass off (Danny Woodhead), proves he is an asset to the team, versus a who???? (insert Joe Mckight) Joe McKnight is the worst thing for the Jets right now because his presence on the team is screwing up team chemistry. He's taking up a roster spot that should be held for someone who can make a difference to the team.

So the Jets should give up on a draft pick rookie to sign a guy that tries hard?

How the hell is McKnight screwing up the chemistry?

He caught 58 passes his last year on the fins and was their best WR, better than Chambers.......Yeah, people thought they were idiots giving up a 2nd, myself included, and boy was I wrong.....

This could come back to bite us in the ass. Danny Woodhead has been underestimated his whole career, which has only pissed him off more and makes him play better. Hopefully they cut him after the game and we can get him back. In my nightmares he actually becomes the next 'Wes Welker' for the Pats and then they win the frigging superbowl with Woodhead leading the way...lol.

Danny Woodhead would not have made a difference to this team. He's a great story but he has proven nothing at this point in his career other then being a feel good story. As of right now Woodhead may be the better player, but that still makes him a 4th string RB and a 5th string WR, and at this point we are healthy so it does not make a difference keeping him around.

McKnight is here based off his ridiculous potential, he is a project player drafted to be coached up by our staff and tutored under one of the greatest 3rd down backs of all time in Ladainian Tomlinson.

"Your stupid" if you honestly think Joe McKnight was drafted to make an immediate impact for this team.

I'm not confirming or denying that Woodhead far outworked McKnight based off an edited 5 episode TV series, but let's say he did. I think it really sucks that a player working harder gets cut over one not working as hard, but this is the NFL, not high school, and that's just reality. I see Joe McKnight as a much better player than Woodhead ever will be in a year or so and obviously the coaches do as well.

But you don't have to listen to me, I'm just a stupid 18 year old kid like you said.

In my nightmares, the Jets cut Woodhead, he plays above his skill level and has a career year,

For the year, 2010 he has 50 carries and 185 yards with 15 catches for 142 yards and a TD. That would just crush his career stats so far.................. lookout NFL.

Well, hell yess there are better players than Woodhead. But, if you don't bring it to the game, it isn't going to do you any good. There are a ton of guys who are talent laden, who don't step up to the plate, Woodhead stepped up to the plate each and every time, and then politics took over and Joe McKight was still on the team, I don't see where I'm wrong on this.
