The Patriots now have the following receivers on the roster:

    Donte' Stallworth
    Wes Welker
    Reche Caldwell
    Jabar Gaffney
    Kelley Washington
    Chad Jackson
    Bam Childress
    Kelvin Kight
    Jonathan Smith

This is not good for us....look out for Brady this year

It's nothing but a list of No. 3 guys right now. No doubt they are going to draft one in the first round as well. That list shouldn't scare anyone.

Washington is very good. He would be a number 2 on Most teams. He was stuck behind three number one receivers in Cincy. This poses a big problem for us next year.

    p.s. MY PREDICTION.

Belly is scheming a Run and Shoot attack, based off the Jets Sugar Huddle schemes employed this year.

He is bringing in a bunch of #2 and 3 WRs, to match up against 4th and 5th CBs.

The read will be if the Deep guy has the coverage beat, or go right to the underneath guy.

GO back and look at the way they exploited DYson playing off coverage in the early part of the playoff game.

I have to admit, this Pats stuff is funny. Cincy, team that owns the record for most arrests in a season, and KW was disliked not only by his team mates, but by a CS that seems to love head cases. The guy couldn't put Housh on the bench! But now he's a Pat, and he's this great WR.

After Branch was traded, the Pats had no deep threat. Stallworth fixes that problem, but he's only marginally better than Branch was. Welker has better hands than either Caldwell or Gaffney, two players that had some key drops in the clutch. Jackson looks like he may miss the 2007 season. Yes, the Pats have upgraded the WR corp, but it's still not a strong unit in comparison to the rest of the NFL.

Also keep in mind that many, even most WR's need a year to aclimate to a new offense and a new team after they've been traded. This Washington signing reminds me of the David Terrell signing.... a head case that thought he was the shiznet, and sucked.

I do detect a bit of panic coming from the Pats with these moves. They have managed to keep the financial risk low, but these are players who could fall on their face easilly in NE. Welker for all that money and a 2nd and 7th round pick? At least they know that Welker carries little risk, as opposed to these other guys.

Chad Jackson could be placed on IR. Smith, Kight and/or Childress could be released

I agree. Kight will most likely go back to the PS with Childress, or they most likely will be cut. Nothing is even remotely clear until TC.

OMG.. Finally a Jets fan that has some common sense.. People .. look at the game tape from the playoffs last year with the Jets... What were the Patriots running? Yes.. A wide open offense to counter that "lets crowd around the line of scrimmage defense".. Just be happy Billy Bob respects it enough to change it up a lil bit.. :shit:

Washington has talent, but supposedly he's been a selfish prick with the Bengals. Plus, he hasn't really been healthy.

LMAO! Dyson had a knee injury, he tried to play, but got pulled because he couldn't cut on the bad knee. Barrett had a hernia that he played through. Miller can't cover a toothpick with a comforter. Coleman was a rookie, and Poteat was a desperation pickup given the injuries.

Pats homers... gotta love them Pats homers. Yes, the Jets need a CB, and will take one in the first round, but if you want to hang your hat on that playoff game against a bunch of backup DB's, by all means, have fun with that.

Hey, will Brady EVER take his team on a TD scoring drive to win a game in the last two minutes? He hasn't had to attempt that often, he usualy just had to get VT close enough to win the game. Brady doesn't win games, he leaves it up to others. Look what he did against the Colts. Fell on his face, did the great Brady. Threw a BAD int. System QB, that can't put a team on his back to win the big one.

I love that NFL network commercial. All these players are talking about how it doesn't get any better than winning the supe. Brady comes on, and says "When you run off the field, with 7 seconds left, and you are looking at those uprights, and you know that this kick is for the championship of the world.... it doesn't get any better than that!" Hey Tommy guns, how about throwing for a TD with seven seconds left, instead of putting it on the FG kicker? Well, it doesn't get any better than that for Brady, becuase he can't get a six in the last two minutes!

you're a moron he engineers drive to get the team is scoring range. If Pennington had done 1/100th of what brady has you'd be calling rome to check on his sainthood status
