I expect a loss. We're going up against a high school quarterback with our all-time TD-throwing QB and an offense that finally looks like it's something to be reckoned with. We're going against a high school quarterback with a much-improved defense that seems to be actually worthwhile. We have two young, solid, on-the-rise cornerbacks that have yet to fail to impress. We're on our own turf. We have loud fans who will bring the ruckus. We have a coach who knows how the other coach works. We have a coach who was one of the last coaches to beat the Patriots in the regular season. So. All signs point to a win. The only one that doesn't is that we're the fuckin' Jets, and that's the way things go. In all honesty, I guess I can say I expect a win, but I'm in the mindset of and preparing for a loss.
I see a close game. The Patriots have some experience with the way the Jets offense is run. I am sure that BB will try and do some things to confuse Favre. The defense is going to need to come up big. I know it holds for many games, but I think it will come down to who wins the turnover battle.
Was reading through thinking the exact same thing. Every dog has its day though ... one can still hope.
matt cassel was threading the needle against the chiefs, I say watch out, this kid might be something else...
I think it's time for all of us to have the confidence that our team is going to get a win. The team knows that they have to do a job, with or without Brady on the other side of the ball. All of us has to go to the stadium and just be as loud as possible. Let them have it all game long, don't let up on them. The time is now and it's the Jets time to take it to the Cheating Pats. :jets:
I look for a score similar to the Jets-Dolphins game. I think our offense is still finding its way some, so I do not expect them to play lights out. I do kind of worry about a miscommunication between Coles and Favre causing a turnover. I think the key to this game is how much pressure can the D put on Cassell and trying to take Moss out of the game early, so he gets frustrated. The Jets win a close one.
I expect it to be a close game still with both defenses playing well. But I would be very disappointed if we were not able to take advantage of their old and slow defense.
NYJ 42 Pats 10. NYJs run 2 INTs back for TDs. As I posted before the Hofstra Hex/jinx/curse has been shattered with the move to FP NJ
2 int's of cassel, 1 int by BF. I expect a close game where BF sets us up to win by a FG. I think a lot of conservative playcalling on our offense will eat up the clock but get us nowhere then we'll score only by BF improvisation during busted plays. Aging defense or not, the pats will have our number until our new QB surprises them.
How can you not. We have not beaten this team on our own turf since 2000. I was at that game and we were very lucky to win. That game was the Monday Night "mini-miracle" when Vinny rallied the Jets to a come from behind win. Jets are going to have to bring their "A" game to win this one. Belichick always has his team prepared.
I think the offense will play better. I hope the defense plays as well as last week. If both happen we win easily. At least 10 points.
Before Brady went down I was hoping for a win but not expecting one. Now I am absolutely expecting one. How can the loss of Brady not hurt the Pats mortally? It may turn out to be close and I'm not saying it's impossible for the Pats to find a way to eke out a win, but I'm expecting a fairly one-sided game. I've been wrong before, of course...
I think the New England defense will give us more trouble than some people think. They were the 4th best team in yards allowed and points allowed last year. They are a good defense whether they are getting old or not.
Maybe we can run on them well...maybe. without BF surprising them (and our players/coaches) in the air they are going to be all over us. It's been like that for years, and I didn't see much different off. play calling last week.
