Agreed. These players on these teams give immense effort and countless hours to perfecting their craft, while doing their best to adhere to shifting rules that favor the QB already. They get penalties that cost their teams games, and get fined large sums of money and miss games if they breach rules. Penalties are meted out within a week. And you think they will let this POS coast without any punishment? The more I think about it, the more I think the league will be doing Brady a favor benching him the season. I would want to take his head off and make sure the only way he leaves the field is via stretcher.
Well, well, well... RT @MichaelSalfino: NO JOKE HERE: WEEI reporting #Patriots expect a suspension of Brady in the 6-to-8-game range.
i can't see it making sense being any less. you know he will appeal it too, so have to come out at the higher end of range initally, so i'd expect 8 games.
It would be really fun if Brady got suspended for 8 games. Half the season 3 really talented teams scramble trying to pull away, then the big boys spend the second half of the season trying to come storming back. It's like giving someone a head start in a foot race. Will they have enough time to catch up the ground? It would be embarrassing if they still won the division. Anything in the 3-4 game range and it's still the Pats division.
8 games. Appeal it down to 6 and he'll be in Foxborough week 7 to take his jolly green ass whoopin! *Pictured below: A big helping of KARMA*
As much as I despise Brady I don't think he should get above 4 games. If me I'd give him one or two games (if he apologizes and admits he is lying). 2 to 4 without a confession. Guys in court are often sentenced based on contrition: are they honestly sorry for their infraction. It's obvious that Brady isn't. But to save a two game suspension he might have to admit he is a cheater and a liar. And I want those exact words coming from his mouth.
I think there can be only one suitable consequence for 'most probably' having a 'general idea' of dudes that are employed to manage footballs managing footballs (possibly) to something below the undocumented specifications of the shoddiest, loosest, least cared-about protocol in sports: Public hanging.
FOX Sports: NFL @NFLonFOX 8m8 minutes ago Report: Patriots bracing for 'lengthy' suspension for Tom Brady - http://foxs.pt/1P6xjxm
Manish Mehta retweeted Greg A. Bedard @GregABedard 4h4 hours ago It's loyalty check time. The Patriots are keeping score, especially with the media, and they know it. Lessons of Spygate. Yeah, Kraft needs to know his money is being well spent.
It's funny how they preach integrity of the game, but when it comes to the Patriots it's different. Then you have the owner acting as if he doesn't know what's going on and defending someone when he knows the true. This league is a joke, don't preach to others how to live their life when those same rules you are enforcing on others doesn't apply to you.
If Brady gets a long suspension you would have to think bellishit does too based on the Saints model where ignorance of the facts is no excuse.
Brady gets long suspension then Patriots better get fines and picks taken away. Not 1 pick, but multiple picks.
season long suspension for Brady 2 games for Belichick. 2 games for Kraft, plus relieved of some current NFL committees, plus massive fine 2016 first round draft pick forfeit that's still a lot less than Bounty Gate..
Not unless a flunkie on the Pats sideline who gets fired talks and sells their story to TMZ...then you get a rehash of the scandal with new evidence, or someone else with an ax to grind leaks anonymous info.
