Good list of guys. Houston would be my number one guy. That being said players like Barrett and Ray are the type of guys we need to fill out the roster. Get them at a good price give them the opportunity to play. We know that they are capable. Expectations are low and if they do anything good we'd be very happy. I've heard good things about Barrett. Liked Ray coming out but not sure if it is injury, people in front of him etc but people seem to be down on him. Houston is my number one but I'd be fine with Ray and Barrett and taking someone in the draft and seeing what is best. We need to do the same with the offensive line especially center. Sign guys that show promise. We know are capable and can fill in. Then draft someone early and we can prepare them for the future.
BOOOOOOOO........ BOOOOOOOOO...... "Okay JETS Fans"..... BOOOOOOO......"With the third pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.... The New York Jets select Josh Allen....." RAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH
I hate Anthony Barrf. Sign Houston, consider signing another guy for depth. Draft Josh Allen. Forget Anthony Barrf exists.
What good corners are still out there?? That’s what I want to know. Roberts could be our number 2 corner he played really well last year but I don’t trust Nickerson as our nickle right now
Bryce Callahan hasn't signed. Can't remember if Ronald Darby signed yet or not. They would both fill a need.
I'd take Houston on a Fowler deal, where its just a 1 year for $14M deal. That way there is no long term commitment. I'd also explore the trade market for guys like Lawrence or Clark. A 2020 second round pick that the 49ers just gave up, doesn't seem like a big deal.
Hopefully Mac is looking at what we're saying and does something. It worked with Paradis and Morse. Lol
I am not sure about whats left for free agent Pass R eg Houston Also ,..it looks like barring a miracle we cant trade back While I am sick of drafting D i am forcing my mind to accept this Even a D Lineman which at one point was really getting me to heave Ill say his name now..how much ya wanna bet we take Q Williams at 3?? His drawback is he certainly doesn't fit the 3-4 D but he a complete disrupter up the middle vs the QB
It's not about him backing out. Really could care less. It's about the timing . The franchise went to bed having "filled the need at edge" the remaining available edge rushers, we're signed. Then Barr bolted. Missing the opportunity to sign one or 2 of them hurts our roster and flexibility on draft day.
Maybe this is overpaying for a position, but a part of me wants an old vet, along with a youngster AND a draft. I would personally want Houston on 2 year deal, with either Shane Ray or Shaq Barrett, then either Bosa or Allen in draft. I wanted to know what the general feel is about. P.S. I don't think we lost much when GB grabbed both Smiths. They are not the edge rushers we are looking for. P.S.2. That said, man! If a player can say 'Nah I'm good here. Sorry!' then shouldn't the franchises be able to do just that too? 'Nah, we're cool with what we have. Bye!' kind of a stuff in FA. I don't think this is the first time happening either. NFLPA should intervene here, no? I mean - why should either party - be it player or the franchise - trust one another? If teams cannot trust the player being true to the intention of contract, what safety measures will NFLPA enforce on the players' end? I know they are all for player interest and all that, but don't they need to police up their conduct as well? I am asking this because, if these kind of 'Nah, I'm cool here' behavior persists, then teams WILL have to come up with a contingency plan. i.e. going for a multiple FAs filling the same role. If one of them signs? The rest will be getting 'nah, we're cool with what we've got now.' treatment. Is that really good for the interest of the players? It literally is blowing my mind. These FAs are out for themselves only, it looks like to me.
I'd work out Ansah and if he's healthy I'd take a flyer on him. If they run a 4-3 part time, it gives him relief from some of the 3-4 snaps
