Don't take this personally please ,but this kind of attitude is unbelievable.
Reverse the situation and think about it.
Focus on what we are doing , the rest will take care of itself.
Maybe Big Phuna is still working for the Jets....its all part of the masterpaln

It could play out as you say, but I do not think there is enough clear examples yet to give it high probability.

The year ahead is the most important one of Mangini's career here. It will make him or break him. The team's needs could not be more evident than they are and we clearly are in an excellent position to do something about it. I am speaking of both, the draft anf FA. I will be eyeing the period from January through the end of camp very closely.

Miami is even in more a shambles than we are. I have to give their owner credit for going to somebody who is very, very, unlikely to fail at re-building the team. A issue that may arise is whether Cameron and Parcells see eye to eye - that could potentially be a real problem. We will know by the end of January if it is. Parcells will not wait long if he thinks the team needs a new coach.

You are on the $$$ there , if theres no notable improvement , my feeling is that he will be gone. When the final seconds run out in the KC game , he has to really start thinking long and hard if he hasn't already.
I like Mangini and really hope he gets it right , lord knows this team has had way too much chopping and changing.

They lost close games like us.....(yep a loss is a loss) but from the FO down they seem to have mutiple problems, I hope Parcells knows what hes getting his good reputation in to.

I could see him trading with Dallas.

Well, Jones loves McFadden and it makes sense for the Phins to stock pile as many picks as they can. McFadden behind that Dallas Oline is a scary thought IMO. I wouldn't be surprised if they trade Taylor out to Dallas also. Parcells going to the Phins is not good for us one bit.

He came to the Jets after our 1-15 record under Kotite. Do you think he ever doubted his ability? He knew precisely what to do from the get go. We can criticize Parcell's all we want for the way he exitted NY, but while he was here he was completely confident and very often right in everything he did.

Why is everyone so sure that Jones is in love with McFadden? Right now, all they have to offer is a #21 1st rounder and a #31 first rounder based on projection. Even if they threw in next years' 1st rounder I doubt that would be enough. I do not see Dallas trading the house for one player and they don't have the ante.

There is not any possible way Dallas is going to go up to 1 for McFadden. They would have to give their entire draft this year and then some more picks next year..

I think he's even went on record saying it....also he has ties to the Razorbacks.

Na...I think their 2 1st rounders and maybe a 3rd rounder will do it. Maybe even a player along with that.

That doesn't even sniff the first pick in the draft. Dallas is most likely going to have a mid 20s pick and the 30th or 31st pick. That is not even close to matching the value of the first pick in the draft, not even close. Parcells is not stupid enough to give away that kind of value in a trade.

They have the #21 pick and possibly the #31 (hopefully, if there is a God the #32 pick). That is not nearly enough even with a third rounder.

Dallas does not have the cards to trade with. Parcell's would be reamed if he cut this deal.

I wasn't critising Parcells. At his age and the fact that he won't be pacing the sideline and obviously alot older , I just wonder if he realizes the huge task he faces.
Hmm....tough one, going to NY after Kotite? Or going to Miami now????

IMO, more & more people are tossing that draft value chart out the window. Especially in this case -- you've got Parcells who wants out of the 1st pick overall to stockpile players and its been correctly noted by other posters on this thread that less + less teams want to move into that spot that costs them an arm + leg.

    JaMarcus Russell
    Mario Williams
    Alex Smith
    Eli Manning
    Carson Palmer
    David Carr
    Michael Vick
    Courtney Brown
    Tim Couch
    Peyton Manning

Looking at the last 10 players drafted # 1 overall - only Manning was worth 1st overall money. In retrospect, half of these guys would have been lucky to be drafted in the 2nd round

I think he knows exactly what faces him. I look for Miami to improve next year, but I thnk it will take 2 or 3 years for them to be back as playoff contenders. I think Parcells uses the #1 pick in three different possibilities.

If he thinks the current QB is not the long term answer; he may go with Matt Ryan.

He could easily boot Ricky Williams and draft McFadden, but I struggle with this because Parcells usually never would go that high for a running back.

I think Glenn Dorsey might be a possibility at the DT position.

I don't think Parcells will trade the pick because I don't think that anyone really has the ammo it would take to get it.

Why would Dallas need to draft a RB?
