No, THANK YOU! Thank you for treating our hero with respect! After this hellish BS, it's so great to see someone treat Brett Favre with a little respect! He's earned it. Jeez, I never dreamed I would be so disgusted with the Packers or just despise them, without prolonged torture and brain washing, but I just can't stomach how they've treated him. It's beyond sickening. I'm proud to root for the Jets, PROUD TO. Just the way y'all have embraced our hero has sold me on rooting for the Jets. I don't care how it's been portrayed - this is a guy who is the poster child for what an NFL player should be. He exemplifies sportsmanship, decency, and honor. It has just rocked my world to see those IDIOT 3 stooges running the Packers try to destroy this man who gave them everything he had for 16 solid years, EVERY GAME, no matter what - he put that team first. I hope and pray he can help y'all win, and that he can enjoy the game he loves like no one I've ever seen. THANK YOU ALL for your kindness, compassion, and the respect you've honored him, and all of us, with. When I saw Favre this morning in those pictures at the airport smiling in a Jets hat, smiling for the first time in too long, I knew then that I could feel really good about this trade and put my heart into rooting for this fine team. Y'all are truly the classy ones. When I heard your coach and GM went down to Mississippi to escort Brett into the embrace of the Jets, I actually cried with joy. No bags of dirty money to try and make him go away, just respect. :jets:
to all the Packers fans who joined TGG today..thank you for the good tidings regarding Favre. As far "enjoying how he plays"....dude....I will be on cloud nine when Favre hits Coles for the first time on a 10 yard out route with a laser....we're used to seeing Pennington throw a shotput on the same play that usually gets taken back to the house by an eager CB.

probably one of the classiest posts by a non-jets fan i've ever read....thank you for your kind words and support. Not that he'll ever be replaced...because Favre is Favre, we all know that. But I would give Aaron Rodgers a chance....i don't believe Favre left the team in a lurch....
Hey, there's a lot more where I came from. I'm a moderator at the bringbackbrettfavre.com forum, and there are A TON of new Jets fans there. We're humbled by the way the Jets have treated Brett, truly humbled. We put our hearts and souls into getting the Packers management to reverse this insane course, but they continued on this destructive path of vindictive stupidity . . . they've lost a lot of disillusioned, heart-broken fans, and the Jets have gained a ton new ones who are thrilled to the core for Brett to be so welcomed so enthusiastically by the Jets and Jets fans. I look forward to being a Jets fan for a long time. I never would have dreamed, as a second generation Packer fan, that I would turn my back on that team, but I do it with utter resolve. GO JETS! I wish I could see the game tonight. I have a feeling the fans at the stadium are going to make me even more proud when Brett shows up. :jets:
Whats up all,Packer fan here. Just letting you guys know you've got a hell of a player on your hands. Good luck this season. I'll be rooting for two teams this year.
That's true. It's a shame Farve will never be the best #4 to play for the team but he'll be a close second.
there's been a lot of theories being thrown around on this board as to why the Packers would give up on Favre....one of them being....Ted Thompson's first draft pick he made as the new Packers GM was Aaron Rodgers..so Rodgers was his guy from the beginning, and obviously, he wants to show that he's making good decisions for the franchise....which in turn, forced Favre out the door. I thought this move was utterly retarded..You force out a guy who throws 28 TD's and only 15 INT's, and leads you to an NFC title game...unbelievable I guess the irony is, it worked out for us Jets fans in the end.....but if i was a die-hard packers fan, i'd be calling for Thompson's head on a silver platter.
It's a long and sordid tale, that's been brewing since Thompson took over 3 yrs. ago and started running off all our veteran heros. We had the youngest team in the NFL last year, as you know. Frankly, I'm too emotionally exhausted over the entire thing to rehash it here, but to put it simply it's about ego, and not Favre's. Now, I think we're all finally ready to move forward with conviction in the knowledge that we stood up for what was right, and Favre was delivered to the Jets, who WANT him and value him. That's not what we had originally hoped for, but I feel now it may all be working out for the best. BTW, you guys got a spot for Donald Driver? Man, I feel bad for him. He's one of the few pre-Thompson players left there, and he's spoken up for Favre enough through this that I fear for his spot on the team. I have NOTHING against the Packers players. In the end, this IS about the players. I wish them the best. They strive and dream and work their entire lives for this, and it's those parasites who live off of what they do who have caused this horror show.
I'd take Driver in a New York minute....hell, even moreso now that we have Favre. But having said that, it would be a move for depth (i don't trust Coles' concussion history)...because i do believe that Coles and Jerricho Cotchery will do an admirable job. Especially since Cotch put up a 1000+ yard season with Noodle Arm throwing him the ball last year.
The Packers have always been a team I have rooted for from the NFC. Sort of an alter-team to root for, especially on down Jet years. I'd never root for them over the Jets, but I've always admired Favre and how he was a classic fit with Green Bay. And it's true... you guys do have a classy group of fans to boot. I know some of you are down on the FO/CS for how things turned out, but I'm really interested if later on down the road more details of this fall-out don't make themselves known. I think there was a lot more to the story between the two sides and what happened and they just couldn't bring that bridge back together. It's too bad because the Pack had a great year last year and could have helped send Brett out with the fairy tale ending. In any event, here's to our team trying to do that for him... May the story have a happy ending for all involved.
What percentage of fans are pro-starting Rodgers? And do any of you guys here agree with the Packers' mindset, but have joined the board due to your love and respect for #4.
Hey, at the rate this is going, Driver might be a free agent before you know it. That's my one worry. Favre has always had this symbolic connection with his best receivers. They just look at each other, and know what the other is thinking. It's going to be hard for Brett to pick up with a brand new bunch of guys and get that as quickly as he'll need to, but he's a great guy - they'll get there. Wouldn't that be the sh*t, if Driver ended up with the Jets too?!? The stooges will never let that happen though.
I really don't know what all the percentages are. There are a lot of Packers fans who back management in this debacle, but a lot more who DO NOT. We've got some of both at our board, but most agree the 3 stooges utterly embarassed everyone. It will be interesting to see how things shake out if Rodgers starts stinking it up, like he did in the scrimmage the other night. For me, it's about principles and treating a man who pulled that team out of the ditch it had been lying in for 30 years, with the dignity and fairplay he'd earned. There are so many lies, insults, slaps in the face, planted BS stories in the media, spin, and just downright disgusting behavior by the Packers management, that I just can't, in my heart, find any excuses for them whatsoever. Sure, Favre made a mistake and changed his mind, but he's not Vick or Pacman - he's Brett Favre! He had a 95.7 passer rating last year. He's was arguably the No. 2 QB in the NFL last year, and he gave everything he had to that team for 16 solid years - he did not deserve the malicious treatment he received, not in any universe. The upside is, he is now being appreciated, and that's a lot after all this. I better get back to my board and see what those yahoos are doing, but I'LL BE BACK! You guys are great! GO JETS!
Oh, and The Bleacher Reportard!?! How can those idiots have any credibilty when day after day after day they have posted those vicious, scurrilous articles about Favre? They're unbelievably biased. I keep wondering if Favre pissed in their Cheerios or something, lol.
Big time Packer fan here, looking forward to following the Jets this year. Suddenly I feel at home...I get to yell "Manning Sucks" just like I did in college! If nothing else, this season should be interesting.
