And you know this about Ryan how exactly? Considering that no one knew what was happening when Mangini was interviewing candidates. Or did you forget all the speculation in the newspapers, that was later shown to be untrue? Or that Sutton was one of the first appointments made by Mangini. Even if Ryan was interviewed, you know he was offered a contract how exactly, since the FO does not release ANY contract information. And when was Sutton turned down for the OC position exactly? Even if that is true, so what? Maybe he just wasn't ready. He has been extremely loyal to the organization, very knowledgable and experienced, and was brought in Parcells. Parcells regards Sutton very highly, and you don't think he recommended him to Mangini? Considering Parcells, and Belicheck for that matter, has always put together excellent CSs and his ability to find great coaches is second to none (which can be seen if you look at the Parcells coaching tree), I will take his word and opinion over yours anyday. Sutton was a good choice. He has the ability, experience, and loyalty to this organization. He also brings much needed experience, along with Westhoff, to an otherwise young CS. He was long overdue.
Well, many possiblities of coaches, but schottenheimer was made OC because of his experience with a succesful san diego offense and what he did with the drew brees, we really needed a QB type OC for the QB's on our roster who can actually play. Our DC sutton i like the choice, he is loyal, and has done well with the linebackers, and since we are going to be a hybrid, 4-3/ 3-4, the linebackers are key to the defense, so he was the loyal and obvious choice.
