Great topic and I agree that this and speed at OLB are the two critical areas to address this year. For NCJetsFan, Coleman played at Auburn not Alabama so he was not the RT you saw getting abused(Jackson). Something of note on Brick is that he no longer has any money guaranteed. That is his incentive to take less money. He gets less but some is guaranteed while the team gets some cap relief. His ballpark 10+ million new money this year could become 6 but guaranteed and have 6 salary for next year with 3 0r 4 guaranteed instead of currently scheduled 13 new money. He is guaranteed 9-10 over the two years while the team saves 4 this year and 7 next. These are obviously ballpark numbers but that is how you could structure it. They may guarantee more in year two or use a bonus to make cap charges work but 6-7 is average LT money and while not elite anymore he is still not easily replaced. A player you can start at RT for a year or two and evaluate for the ability to swap over makes sense. One thing Fitz was good at was pre snap reads and knowing where to go and getting it out fast making line look better. I am concerned about a new RT and not sold on our RG. Two rookies/new players on the right side when you don't have a good blocking TE who could help them could be disastrous.

Thanks for the correction/info. I really like your idea of using guaranteed money as the "carrot" to get Brick to accept a lower salary. That's the ticket. I agree with your comments regarding the right side of the OL and that OT and a speedy OLB are the two big needs. IMO not far behind are the RG, RB and TE positions. If we get a two-way TE who can block he can help Giacomini or a new RT. Colon is better than Winters, but that's not saying a lot. He could definitely help even as a backup with his fire, and he could help mentor a rookie RG or Harrison if he can make the step up.
