This is the 1st time I've been able to keep a game on past the 5th inning in almost a month. Also, Arod was robbed there.

The process has started to turn Joba into a starter according to Giradi just a few seconds ago.

Based on what he did in the 9th it will be a long process.

Obviously Rasner is the real deal. Too bad Kennedy sucks as bad as he does and we only see Hughes a few weeks a year.

They're prepping Joba to start at the same time Melancon is beginning to dominate in Trenton.

    Nice.

It was the latest in a string of home run calls that have been blown by big league umpires lately, including one at Yankee Stadium on Sunday night. That's left some calling for instant replay in baseball.

This ruling didn't end up costing the Yankees, it just left A-Rod flipping his helmet at second base and shaking his head in disbelief.

    ...

Rodriguez hit a drive that struck the yellow staircase between the fence and bleachers in right-center. The ball caromed back onto the field and was ruled in play, but Rodriguez and Yankees manager Joe Girardi protested. The umpires huddled and upheld the call, as television replays showed the ball clearing the wall.

    -----

MLB is lucky the last two didn't affect the outcomes of the games in question.

No but you keep harping on Jeter as if it is mostly his fault.

Amazing how there's no "Yankees Suck" posts from the regulars after that shalacking last night that actually consisted of earned runs.

    I <3 Rasner.

ARod is, to quote 10P10, the best player on the planet. He wasn't injured, he was just giving the rest of the league a chance to catch up.

Francesa: "There's no one ready to step in from the minors and take over the 8th inning."

I think he said that last year, too.

YANKEE PANIC MOVE. Joe Girardi said three days ago that Jaba may not even start in 2009. TONIGHT, on YES, he says all along it was the plan to convert Jaba into a starter this year...WTF!....No wonder he was fired in Florida. He LIES thru his teeth. This is a complete PANIC MOVE. Taking the best 8th inning reliever in baseball and TRY to make him a starter this year. Kyle Farnsworth is going to look great coming out in the 8th inning in a close ballgame in August/September.

I can't tell you enough how much I love Joe's cute posts. It's like the crazy uncle who sits in the corner at Thanksgiving and just talks nonsense every few minutes. What he says and what he does is absolutely absurd to the rest of us, yet you know he's been reduced to a pitiful nothing after everything that's gone on in his life, so it's just funny.

Maybe so, and maybe all you say about Girardi is true. But at least I'm confident that Hank won't be shy about firing the guy if its warranted. (Not that I think it is, not even close, and certainly not based on your clown opinion). You have Willie Randolph to look forward to indefinitely.

I like JB Cox...Humberto Sanchez should be back to full strength by next season, maybe end of this season.

Karstens was optioned to Triple-A...So another decent arm to have as a long reliever since I've almost worn my welcome out with Ohlendorf.

I still really like Ohlendorf. He has great stuff, but he's been struggling with his control a bit this season. I thiknk he can turn it around, and I really wouldn't mind seeing him at least get a shot at the 8th inning roll once Joba is switched to the rotation if the minor league arms aren't ready

HELL NO. He can barely be a decent reliever, but give him a shot as a setup man ? I think it'd be better for Rossy to go back to Scranton and let him digest the experience then come back at a later time.

I'd rather wait for Karstens get healthy and put him as long reliever, I like him more than Ross, at least right now.

I don't know who else was MIA, but for myself, I had finals. Finals week is now over. School is done. I'm gonna be graduamated!

I'll tell you what, though... regardless of how the Yanks are doing, I don't exactly miss visiting threads that are filled with nothing but bitch bitch bitch bitch bitch. Not exactly stimulating baseball conversation, you know? I like talking baseball...I like analyzing baseball... I like reading what other people have to say about baseball and their analyses... but it's not enjoyable to read about people who don't even seem to like their own team.

Sure, people are just venting their frustrations, but it doesn't exactly give me a reason to check the site daily.
