I'm only using the logic you have been using for years and years. Next time a Jets player makes the pro bowl, acknowledge that the guy is a pro-bowler and a difference maker whether the team wins the Super Bowl or not.....like you are doing for Butkus.

    Deal.

    As a kick returner, yes.

    As a corner, no.

    As a citizen, no.

These things happen, though. OJ was one of the greatest players in NFL history. Every team has legal issues. The ones that don't..........are going to have them.

Nice way of deflecting the fact that champ's admiration for Dick Butkus completely flies in the face of his "philosophy" that he's been hammering us with all this time.

If memory serves, MJ broke his hip in Indy in first NFL game. I always thought that was the reason that he lost the speed he showed at FSU. I still remember the highlight film that was shown before the draft. His sideline-to-sideline speed was incredible.

One funny aside: I got my brother a Marvin Jones jersey after he was drafted with the number 54. Soon after he changed his number to 55, saying that he had "raised the speed limit" or something like that. I was pissed after dropping a wad of cash on that jersey.

Anytime a player is referred to after they are no longer playing they are worthy of being used in a discussion. No different then say JWN & maybe some day the NYJs will have such players that other FB team fans will be saying good things about

Also you sound really quite silly since U know I was using DB as an example

If you dislike the Butkus example want to switch to LT or maybe to Marvin L?

It wasn't his first NFL game but it was in Indy in his rookie year of 1993. One of the few times we actually won at the Hoosier/RCA Dome but that game was midseason.

he changed his # to 55 in 1997 after Parcells got here and cut Bobby Houston who had worn 55 since a couple of years before Mo got to the Jets. i think 55 was his college # so when houston was finally gone he scooped up his #.
