Just read on Pro Football Talk that it will be delayed even further. League scuttles regular-season schedule preview Posted by Mike Florio on March 23, 2010 8:58 AM ET "Over the past few years, the NFL has used the annual meetings as a vehicle for announcing the prime-time games to be played in Week One, and the trio of games held on Thanksgiving. This year, the announcement was schedule for Monday. On Monday, the league advised the media that the announcement would be moved to Tuesday. Now, John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reports that the announcement has been scuttled. So what's going on? In our estimation, the games can't be announced until the rest of the schedule is set. And, apparently, the rest of the schedule isn't set -- possibly due to last week's decision that the Giants and the Jets will each host a game in Week One. More specifically, it's possible that the compromise was hastily arranged in the wake of the coin-flip flap, and that the league has thereafter encountered difficulties in working out the balance of the schedule in an acceptable way. Regardless of the reason, it's a strange development for a league that prides itself on being organized and timely. So now we play the waiting game. Usually, the full schedule is announced in April. Given today's development, we're not prepared to make any further assumptions regarding the release of the full schedule."
No way, dude. Evil Woody Johnson caused the ruckus and now the NFL world must hate him, and by extension, the Jets for causing a delay in the release of these dates. So sayeth Fag Florio.
rex's personality is RUBBING(haha) off on the entire staff. let's see tanny stop stuttering when he talks, and go bananas.
League won't announce any part of 2010 schedule until mid-April By Jason La Canfora | NFL.com ORLANDO, Fla. -- In a change from the norm, the NFL will not announce any games scheduled for the 2010 season at the NFL Annual Meeting this week, according to a league source. Generally, the league would announce some key primetime match-ups during the meeting, but that will not be the case this year. There are some unresolved issues, and the schedule is not ready for these games to be locked in yet. An announcement on the full schedule is now expected to come at once in mid-April.
The funny thing about Florio (and not the least bit surprising) is that if you look at the comment section under one of his posts it's pretty obvious that most of his readers have nothing but contempt for the guy and his opinions.
Yeah, he's kind of like Fatcessa. A worthless blabbing schmuck that people go out of their way to hate, and end up making him money in the process.
Have a feeling the opening primetime games and Thanksgiving games were already scheduled, and then Woody spoke up about the first game in Jets Stadium (thats what I am going to start calling it)cause I have a feeling Giant fans will still call it Giants Stadium, anyway back to my point. Since then they had to re scramble since the Jets were give MNF and Thanksgiving night so they probably had to re do several teams schedules because of it.
They just announced it but since no one was there the commissioner actually made no noise. At least we got the answer to a different question.
I think the NFL should have made a schedule exception and had the Jets and the Giants play in the new stadium the first week.
yea, "Battle for the Meadowlands" that woulda been an awesome week 1 monday night game, being its a new stadium and all
