i love everything about it. chad finally finished a season and that led us to a 10-6 season. i really believe hes only going to get better next year as the team gets better all around.

as much as i hate to bring it up... im just waiting to see when the chad haters come out and give him shit about the underthrow to LC for what could have been a TD, but coles had to come back for it and then dropped it. im on chads side even before anyone brings it up, because every throw cant be perfect. the short passes hitting recievers in stride almost every time, the smart decisions, and knowing when to go down the field and what not to are what helped us win today.

Joe was the coolest. Chad looks like he's 10 years old.

He kinda reminds me of Chrebet a bit. Chrebet didnt have the height or the athleticism. Chad doesn't have the arm or the speed. Yet each of them found a way to get the job done using intangibles. Thats what makes oth of them two of the best Jets ever. Congrats to you Chad.

He epitomizes what this team is all about, its a pleasure to watch him play in a Jets jersey. More heart than any man on the field.

 and i'll congratulate him for that.

but, he can't put up any cleveland games if the team is to have any chance to win in the playoffs.

he was great today accept the missed go route to LC. He was short by about 5 yards on that throw, but I'm nit picking.

In all three seasons in his career that Pennington has played more than 10 games, the Jets made the playoffs. In the two seasons he played less than 10 games, the Jets failed to make the playoffs.

Say what you want about his arm or whatever, the bottom line is the he WINS. Very few people were picking the Jets to make the playoffs in 04 and 06 and they did. The Jets have one Pro-Bowl player on their roster (should be two) but only 5 teams in the NFL had a better record this year. So Pennington wins and doesn't have a boatload of talent around him either.

While I am known as a huge Pennington fan on this board, even his critics have to give him credit for coming off the two shoulder injuries and leading the team to the playoffs. Not many thought he would throw another pass in the NFL after last year, and not many thought he would start, and few of us thought he could play in all 16 games, and then few thought that if he did he could be effective. Not only was he effective, but he led them to 10 wins and the playoffs. How many expected that? Knock his arm if you want, but not his determination, leadership, and character.

Honestly, I have yet to see anyone knock those qualities. Practically everyone admits that if Chad had his own brain with Peyton Manning's arm, he would probably be unstoppable.

The only honest complaint is in regard to his arm strength.

If he had his brain with Peyton Manning's arm, he'd be Peyton Manning. This is more a knock on the Indy coaching staff then a praise of Manning's abilities, but in the playoff game against the Steelers last year he was essentially the QB, the OC and the HC. Peyton generally takes on alot more then Chad does and even with his amazing arm he hasn't managed to break through and win the big one.

No matter how intelligent a guy is I think against the tough, pressure defenses you're always better off with your coaches calling the shots rather then a guy that's down on the field taking a pounding.

I'm not sure Peyton is as bright as everyone thinks he is. Remember the 41-0 playoff game? They were running around like a Chinese fire drill. Get them out of their living room conditions in front of an enemy crowd and their system breaks down. Chad seems to function better in those conditions.
