I liked the idea of going deep to Edwards, since he was being single-covered and that was a smart thing to do, but no way that should have been called on third down. If you're going to do that, do it on first or second, especially with Sanchez struggling the way he was.
A better play would have been to go over the middle where he would have been beyond the safety and had a better chance to catch an easier ball. If the ball is thrown DEEP enough, and it's picked off, then it's as good as a punt (assuming BE tackles the CB).
This was the only call that made me rage at the tv. I'm all for that play call on first or second down. In that situation, go for the high percentage pass and try for the first down. A TD would have sealed it in that spot but a first down would have achieved the same result. Luckily thats all moot now. Gotta say though, Schotty called a great game. If Sanchez didn't play like a shitbag for a good majority of the game I think the Jets win by 7+
The play call was fine. If Sanchez throws a good pass then the game is over. His shoulder is clearly hurting him. New England delenda est.
