One thing I worry about with Pennington.... (bash me if you will)

I see Chad as the eventual backup and mentor to Kellen Clemens. This is an excellent role for him, one that he'd concede to and one that you could easily see fairly soon. He loves playing for the Jets, loves tutoring up-and-coming QB's and has all the mental skills and experience to guide a new kid to success while making him aware of all the pitfalls.

Imagine a world in which Clemens flourishes as an accurate deep threat, behind an O-line that has really gelled, with a running game that really pounds the ball and with Pennington behind him in case he gets injured. This could turn out to the best #1 & 2 combination in the NFL!

His contract is quite rich to be a backup. Not too many QBs start for a team for a few years and stay there as the backup, because of the contract.

At the Vikings? That won't be bad. It's in a Dome.

I hear you 2004 but I can also see Pennington restructuring and remaining. Other teams would have him but not as a starter, IMO. He's got to know that and he certainly sees the writing on the wall as far as us drafting Clemens and giving him so much time with the 1st team in TC. It's either be a backup here or be a backup somewhere else, and I think Penny is enough of a team guy and can swallow his pride enough to assume that role.

Oh right. I thought we were at Oakland. But I'd rather face that team at home anyway. Give em' a real embarrassment.

That game is going to be great. Dec 31: New Years Eve, I'm going to start drinking around 9 am at the stadium and continue all day/night until my liver pleads for mercy.
