Glad to see that someone sees the game of football. Abraham will be missed alot. I would feel alot better if Jets' had gotten the #15 pick, instead of #29. abraham needed the security of a big contract, cause in football....every play can be your last play. People that don't understand that....probally still live with there parents...
i am all for keeping top notch ball players -- but abraham was only a pass rusher -- not good at stopping the run -- never stepped up in a big game -- yeah he had a nice 10 sack season when we were 4-12 -- he made it clear he did not want to be in NY and did not want to play for the jets. He didn't fit in our new defensive system and this deal works for all teams involved. The NFL is a business now and you can either roll with it and take advantage of situations to make your team better or you can lose players and get nothing in return for your franchise. The Jets got a nice return on Abe.
He was franchised so that we did not allow him to move off to another team without compensation...the BADway/Edwards era would have let JA walk to another team w/o any compensation...NOW we have 2 1st round picks...JA can be replaced
I thought the same thing. I could not agree more. Abe wants his money and want to be near his friends in Atl so he can go out partying an drinking and get another dwi. Good riddance Abe.
DINOBOT GOES ON AND MAKES A STAEMENT LIKE THIS WHICH IN ITSELF IS ABSURD, AND THEN TOPS IT OFF BY REPLYING ON WHAT MAKES ABE SO SPECIAL.... TO ASK THAT QUESTION THEN REPLY AS TO WHAT MAKES ABE SO SPECIAL IS SUMMED UP AS SAYING THAT ABE WAS LESS THAN GOOD...(BUT GETS TRADED FOR A 1ST RD PICK AND NOT TO MENTION THAT ABE ALONE COMMANDED SUCH A STIR THAT A 3RD TEAM HAD TO GET INVOLVED TO COMPLETE THE TRADE! ONE PLAYER, 3 TEAMS?....!!! SOMETIMES I WONDER ABOUT THE QUALITY OF THE POSTER NOWADAYS.
Stop freaking crying he is out we got what we wanted its over. He wil probably get injured in the second half of their season.
WHO IN THE FRIG IS CRYING, I MADE A POINT. IF YOU HADNT YET FIGURED IT OUT, THIS IS A MESSAGE BOARD, WE SPEAK WHAT WE FEEL AND THE FRIGGIN TRADE JUST FRIGGIN HAPPENED, IT WASNT TWO WEEKS OR EVEN TWO DAYS, BARELY FRIGGIN TWO HOURS NINCUMPOOP.... GAFC AND L J/A
Yea, I agree with that. The man was hurt, he couldnt play. It was Herm's fault for letting us think he could play.
i disagree. this was as good a move as you coud've made at this point in time. I only hoped that they could've made both abe and atl sit and wait until the draft. In the end you knew he wasn't going to be here, we got a 1st rd pick. lets move on.
The fact that we turned it from a 2nd round pick and Matt Schaub to a late first round pick speaks for itself. Also better than anything Seattle was willing to offer.
You are a FAG! He had 1 DD , the other one was not founded! DIE!..... YOU CLAIM TO BE AN "OLDER" JET FAN.....THEN LET ME ASK YOU OH WISE AND OLDER JET FAN.....USUALLY....USUALLY WHEN SOMEONE IS OLDER THEY HAVE BEEN AROUND THE BLOCK AND HAVE GAINED SOME AMOUNT OF KNOWLEDGE OVER THEIR YEARS. NOW YOURE USING THE WORD FAG, BECAUSE THAT IS THE BEST ADJECTIVE YOU CAN COME UP WITH, THAT IS THE BEST CHOICE IN YOUR VOCABULARY? THERE ARE ALOT OF THINGS I WOULD LIKE TO CALL YOU RIGHT NOW BUT FORTUNATELY FOR YOU I HAVE SOME CLASS/DONT REALLY FEEL LIKE GETTING BANNED HERE. DONT POST HERE, YOUR INANE (ONE THAT LACKS SUBSTANCE) ILL SAVE YOU THE TROUBLE OF LOOKING IT UP. YOURE OPINIONS ARE LACKING AND ADD NOTHING TO THE BOARD. STOP WASTING MY TIME. *7 days for personal attacks*
Yknow, I actually agree with you. John Abraham is a phenomenal player, I never wanted to see him go. Two years ago, John Abraham and Santana Moss were my favorite Jets. Now theyre both gone, and the way things are looking, Chad Pennington and Curtis Martin, who are also favorites of mine, wont be around for more than a year or two either. Thats just the NFL today. Players change teams, coaches change teams... nothing to be done about it. You can get mad and stew about it, or look forward and hope that the team made the right decision. Also, I think you have to realize that the Jets organization knew full well what a talent Abraham is, and they never were willing to even negotiate with him. I feel like there has to be something else contributing to this that we will likely never know about, some off the field baggage or a bad locker room attitude or something, who knows. But the guys running this team arent stupid, they wouldnt be trying to trade their most talented defensive player if there was no reason not to keep him around.
I dont understand why everyone is all happy that he is gone. Sure he was unhappy with a lot of things, but that is this business. Meh, I just think that he deserves some credibility for his actions on the field when he was here. He did a lot of amazing things for our team, and I appricate that. Sure he could've put more into it at times, and it showed often. Although he was still better than 3/4's of the DE's in the NFL. Even when he would fairy tip toe his way to the QB at times. All I'm saying is that he did do some great things for this team, and a lot of clutch things. Dont get me wrong. You cant have someone on a team that does'nt want to be here. It just cant work. I also feel that this was an excellent decesion by the FO. Yet I dont think all the hate is neccessary either. IMO <3
Agreed. We aren't as good a team as we were with Abe. There is NO DISPUTING that in any way shape or form minus the off-field issues ( and that includes the long-term contract situation)
