I remember hating Paul Maguire since I was like 9 or 10 years old in the 80's (my older cousin must've hated him and I followed suit). Watching a shit-ton of games on Sunday Ticket almost every weekend, the worst announcer, bar-none, is Chris fucking Rose. Holy shit, is he awful. Imagine a more obnoxious, less clever version of the typical SportsCenter talking head. You may recognize him from such TV stints as "Total Fucking Douchebag At The 2009 World Series".
People just think Collinsworth is a condescending asshole. I know because every time I watch the game with my family, they all hate him. Didn't like him as a player, didn't like him now. I think he's pretty good. I don't like Dierdorf because his points are often nonsense, he mispronounces everything, and he rambles. He's probably my least favorite. Along with Tim McCarver.
Absoulutely! And here's the thing w/Theisman. When he does the game it seems like he just shows up and talks. No mid week Presser, No sit downs w/ the players, Doesn't know rosters and doesn't watch football other than rewinding his games. I'm serious, the Man knows Nothing about the current NFL when he does games. It's ridiculous. I'd go: - Phil Simms - Al Michaels - Boomer - NOBODY! Collinsworth became Shit overnight. He was good but he becomes so 1 sided during games it's annoying. And let's not forget about the man who makes calls like he's taking a shit, Mr.mike tirico...He is fukin AWFUL!
joe theisman is and idiot thats all i can say when i hear him talk about football, he just truly...is an idiot. period.
Collinsworth likes to talk about his glory day all the time. "As a reciever I would never do that." "I used to do that as a reciever all the time." Thats the only thing that bugs me about him. On the other hand, Keith Olberman makes me mute the TV. I can't get over his MSNBC show that is full of lies.
Funny thing is there was a time when he was considered the "creme-de-la-creme" of NFL studio announcers back in the day (early 1980s). He conducted the halftime report from NBC studios. He was unbelieveably good in this role. Anyone else remember this? Speaking of Theisman, to this day, I STILL cannot watch an NFL football game without thinking about him getting his leg snapped like a dry chicken bone back in '85. Can't believe it has been almost 25 years...
Theisman sucks. Thank god I will be in an insanely loud bar. Just to play it safe though, I am going to bring two sharpened #2 pencils. One to jab in each ear if I can hear him. Collinsworth is pretty damn good. I find him among the best commentators going. I can see how some people get on others nerves, be it voice, inflection, ego etc. etc. That being said I hate the following: Joe Suck Aikman because he is paired with Joe Suck. Yes guilt by association. Dierdoff Neon Deion- What a fucking tool Theisman- Too bad LT did't snap his vocal chords. That's all that come to mind right now.
i agree with the above, including the aikman part, if he wasnt with buck hed be ok, but i hat buck and his damn salmon colored ties. add to the list-Ian Eagle he pronounces it I-N, you f*ing nerd your setting E-N's back to the 3rd grade. what you think it makes you sophisticated to call yourself I-N oh yes youre so original. probably got tired of correcting people and caved.wuosse
Oh damn. I oistened to Gibbs call a game on the radio Sunday on my way down I-95. I thought i might be listening to Bass Pro fishing or some down home southern sporting channel. Him and Theismann? Oh my,teh suk
Unlike Joe Theismann, Boomer Esiason, Dan Marino, Shannon Sharpe, Keyshawn, Phil Simms, Emmitt, Warren Sapp, Tony Siragusa, Daryl Johnston, Rod Woodson, Rodney Harrison... All former players do that. That's the only reason anyone would listen to former players over journalists- they have first hand experience.
