We've come a long way in coverage of training camp, some would say we've gone backwards. We used to get Jets Confidential in the mail 3 weeks late but at least it was quite in depth and well written. Now we get daily emojis. (Barf)
Hopefully for him it's a one time screw up and he wakes up. Not a good trait, especially for a QB to have.
Dan Leberfields Jets Confidential, used to subscribe to it. Read that and made sure to get the NY Post and Daily News everyday
he was the worst pretender of ny media, Leberfeld. what a joke. you make sense now. your username sort of does too. the press pass never ever made a lick of sense though.
Never happen would it? They do 3 hours a day training max. Then its golf in the afternoon or occasionally a community outreach thing. A bit more in preseason, but the season is 10 months long as well. The training is probably quite similar really but soccer players don't have work ethic for sure.
I think one of the major themes here is that Darnold really needs to work on that deep ball. It wasn't great in college by any means and there were times where that ball was severely underthrown. I am noticing the same in these TC practices, but hopefully its a chemistry issue. Still needs to develop it.
Feel bad, a month or so of early wake up calls to make yourself better while getting paid millions. For one he's not up until 2 am unless he's still running from the cops and bet on the fact that the other QBs do it. Didn't notice Jackson repeating the point to Tyrod (Landry said first in, last out), that's how the league works.
Thought about this too. However he hit just as many deep throws in college as he missed & hes looked top notch all camp throwing deep in individuals. So ive got 3 factors to consider moving forward 1. Chemistry-As you alluded, time in the offense & with guys like Anderson will improve this immensely 2. Velocity-He has oodles of arm strength but tends to emphasize touch on passes. This works great on internediate throws & while it worked somewhat in college its time to put alittle more heat on the throws over 20 yds. Think this is something he’ll work on & improve 3. Throwing on run-To some extent i think the underthrowing downfield is a byproduct of his style of play when things breakdown.Quite often hes lofting throws off balance, under duress etc..this naturally will result in some underthrows. While this will never truly go away..he & his teammates will learn to manage/adjust moving forward
#2 is the absolute truth. The touch absolutely stands out. It'll take time for 2 and 3 to show up on the field, but hopefully it does. Great assessment sir.
https://www.newyorkjets.com/news/ke...osh-martin-is-my-best-pass-rusher?campaign=tw I agree with Kevin Greene..
Great nickname! Only rookie currently listed as a starter on the depth chart. Safe to say coaches are encouraged by what they've seen so far, although there was no incumbent at the position either fwiw.
I was shocked with the DE depth chart myself. I was thinking it was Henry Anderson's position to lose. If he's better then Anderson, then the Jets may have found themselves a big time steal.
