Any contract TO gets would be incentive laden just like Cincinnati is offering him so I really don't see why anybody would be worried about any other deals getting done first. His base might be the veterans minimum no matter where he signs.

I don't see why Owens would even be interested in signing here, he'd be the #4 WR behind Cotch, Braylon and Holmes and in terms of pass catching options I'd say he's fifth on the roster, maybe even 6th if they wanna pass to the RB more often. Just doesn't make sense unless he wants to ride the bench and hope the team wins the SB so he can get a ring

What if Cotch/holmes/braylon goes down? That's where having T.O comes into play. Tanny is smart. He is looking to add depth at the wr position. Look back last year, injuries prevented us from winning the AFC championship game. T.O would be a great addition. Sky and fly meets ground and pound. If this happens a 19-0 season isn't out of reach

Jtrain should be banned just for that SIG alone.

We should also get Vick, just in case, and Russell just in case Vick goes down.

I'd rather have an AIDS monkey on the team.

Listen! T.O doesn't care about stats. The man wants to win a ring. We give him the best chances of doing that. And he can look towards his retirement.

As his career is coming closer to an end he has began to dabble in more off-the-field activities including modeling and hosting his own reality show. He signs here.

Does that mean we are going with 2 kickers and 2 punters? Since injuries are part of the game? The TO signing would be senseless. Why do we need 4 starters at the WR spot again?

Im glad this is just another one of Tanny's "Don't leave any stones unturned" calls.

If T.O. wants to be on HBO T.O. will sign a deal w/the JETS. I wouldn't be surprised to see this happen. He may think that he's capable of winning a starting spot, especially w/holmes facing the suspension. Plus its NYC and a new stadium and a team that should be in the playoffs w/a good D, a good young QB and a great OL. So there is a lot in it for T.O. to be amenable to making some compromises.

For the Jets if we can get him at a price that works, he still has the potential to dominate and he would add to a growing arsenal for Sanchez to choose from as the season progresses. Yes, he's a bit of an ahole, but if he can catch the ball and score TDs and help win football games nobody will care.

People we have nothing to lose if we sign T.O. If he becomes the ass he was in the past then we just cut him and move on with the 3 good WR we now but if he doesn't act like a ass and is a good TO on the field it makes the Jets even more deadly.

He signs here? We are not even interested in offering him a contract. Its not like its his choice to sign here.

I know he wants a ring, but Jets could give a fuck about his fairytale end to his career. What incentives do have to sign him?

I don't want that ass anywhere near Mark. Mark has a good cast around him now that seem to respect him and I'm sure Holmes will be fine.

    TO is a whiny bitch.

Most likely. I can't see him signing with us... And I can't see us being realistically interested.

The Jets can't guarantee any rings. But they can guarantee prime time exposure on HBO and they guarantee a NY media circus. Rings???? we r a long way from that, lets just see if they can get out of training camp healthy....

He only has until tomorrow to decide on that. They gave him a deadline.
