Haha yeah that would be Mike Singletary. And his trusty side-kick Mike Martz. They were plucked out of obscurity to make their names in San Fran as up and comers in the football world. P.S. that's called sarcasm. 1) Denver is a hot team, a division leader! (Got crushed by Oakland at home, barely got by KC today) Sounds just like the Jets. 2) Any team can have one, no two, no three (etc) bad games This just bizarre at best. Yes good teams can have 2 and sometimes 3 bad games. It's called the dynamics of reality. There's no sunshine here: these guys cannot score enough points to keep pace with the points the defense allows through the air. It's just that simple.
Really, everyone acts as if Chad Pennington is the prime reason for Miami's success this year. Nerds.
Hiya. Where were U? I waited all game for my beer but alas you never showed. I guess in SF that is OK but elsewhere it would be called welshing. I'm stilling waiting for your report how you enjoyed watching our D get shredded yesterday. Also your report on how our inept our O played You also have to report what rays of sunshine you see after watching that performance yessterday
This is why I've stepped back from being a full throttle Jets fan. I got all kinds of crap from this board when I announced during the Chiefs game that I'd seen enough. Now I'll just observe this team as any other, I love the NFL, but can't cheer for a team that does this all the time: the Jets won a couple of big games, but they can't handle the celebrity of top team status, never have (except for one brief moment lead by the brash Joe Willie) and never will. There they were, 8-3, destiny in their hands, and they then simply do not show up at ALL against two very beatable teams, making their defenses look like the Steel Curtain and their offenses look like the Montana lead 49ers. The Jets do this every year, was bound to happen, and it happened again. Even if they make the playoffs, I guarantee you, as a close observer for 36 years of the Jets, they may win one or at best two games in the playoffs, enthusiasm will be high, and then they will choke/not show up in the next game and it will be over. However at this point, it looks like they won't make the playoffs, then everyone will get excited about the draft and before you know it, unrealistic expectation will be here with the start of mini-camps: Here's my instinct for the rest of the season. They'll beat Buffalo, everyone will get all excited, and then either against the Seahawks or the Dolphins the Jets will either A) not show up at all a la Broncos/49ers or B) Play well, but at the end, make a bad mistake/slip up and lose. Playoffs gone. Lather, Rinse and Repeat. Same thing all the time, this organization is snake bit, period. Doesn't matter how many millions in free agency or start quarterbacks they sign. The Jets are the Jets....
I know; we served him up to you on a silver platter. We will not even get a draft pick for him. But, nevertheless, I am glad he is doing well.
I want to know how in the hell Chad Pennington is responsible for single-handedly being heralded as the main catalyst for Miami's success. How many TDs does he have?
"I told you so" threads are always so awesome. The best part is, there can always be one. Whether someone predicted this team would make the playoffs, or that they would crash and burn, someone had to be right!!! I'll make a prediction, right here, right now. The Jets will win another game before 2012. When they do, I'm going to start a thread to tell you all I trolled, I mean, told you so!
For two weeks we have seen teams play us and do what they wanted to do. I'm at a loss for this and seem to think we aren't as good as advertised. I mean we have Brett friggin Farve! Is it coaching or game planing? Is it player personnel? Are teams better then they are on paper? We have officially stumbled and by the numbers control our destiny , but how many times have we heard that? Holly cow what a Sundays makes!
