Exactly... What really sucks about this is the media is gonna have a field day saying Simms should start and then dog us all season if we don't start him...

Matt Simms sacked 7 times in 33 drop backs -- a McElroyian night. #Jets

    Still had a good night

Honestly, Simms needs another year to learn and be groomed. Kid has potential. Lets get him get really comfortable with the game and I think he may have a shot in the future. Being in practice squad helped last year.

Wow. Maybe next year it will be a Smith/Simms competition. Nacho can go back to bangin minors in SoCal.

Aside from the token "he's playing against 3rd string players" stuff, I'd like to hear your take on how he is actually playing.

Otherwise, your post is pretty fucking stupid.

    Agreed!

Simms had no O-line help and still completed 75% of his passes to guys who won't even be on the team. Half the time the Eagles has a free pass to the QB. He took the hits and kept getting up. Sanchez couldn't and Smith got hurt with out anyone touching him.

He had a pretty good night. Two passes I'm sure he would like back that would of most likely been pick 6s against 1s. Overall I give him a solid B.

We're so used to being disappointed at the Qb position that when we actually get a great performance out of one, we don't believe our eyes. Don't forget who Matt Simms' dad was. Don't think for a minute Phil didn't teach both of his sons how to play the position and it would appear that out of the two, Matt inherited the talent. Tonite, the Jets might have found their QB of the future.

He's executing a limited game plan very well against third stringers. It's really a good performance by him but he has taken some sacks and he's not being asked to do a lot.

He's clearly the Jets third best QB at this point because unlike McElroy he has the arm.

The sad part is, if we wouldn't have drafted Smith, Simms would be starting game 1 whether Sanchez was healthy or not after this game. Since we did draft Smith and he is the GM's pet, Simms won't get a shot, even though he seems to be the best QB on the team.

Can you just imagine the buzz and media going crazy in an actual positive way if we did start Simms game 1. It would be awesome. Local kid makes good, son of Giants great starts for Jets, no matter how you word it, it's all good.
