Simms probably should be 3rd QB, and Mcelroy be relegated...Kinda sad, but Greg lacks the tools to play regularly
31/38 even in a preseason game, I can't remember this kind of accurancy from a Jets qb in the last 4 years.
And didn't people argue that accuracy was his weakness? P.S. Wasn't there even a pass or two that went through the receivers hands? Albeit his first pass of the game probably should have been picked off, but after that he has been in the zone.

One went through a recievers hand and the other a reciever dropped which would have been a pretty substantial gain, as im writing this, rodgers drops a perfect pass for another possible large gain. And there was one other drop.
I'd love to say the only reason recievers are only dropping balls because there the backups bit we all know that not to be true..
Rick Mirer lit it up in the 1999 preseason. How did that work out ? Jack Trudeau had a much better preseason than Esiason in 1994. Preseason games and stats are basically meaningless.
He does seem to read the field really well. But unfortunatlyhes playing againstallot of guys that aren't going to make an nfl team. I Don't know if he can duplicate his decesion making against "actual nfl players". He makes good decesions but can he do that against first teamers. With that said, I'm all for the jets throwing him at this point. Who really cares. Lol
True, but Simms is building on his raw skills...If anything, he's rising. And those guys above lack the Simms gene. jus' sayin brah

Look at the replay and watch the receiver's eyes. He's looking for the back shoulder throw the entire play.
People comparing Simms to Mirer and Ratcliff have to remember the bar is much, much, much lower now. All they have to do is prove they aren't completely worthless and they have the clear edge over Sanchez. I'd be fine with 1/2/3 as Geno/Simms/Mcelroy
So doesn't mean that were due for a QB to work out like that. (Kind of joking) Pre season stats are meaniness but how they play and re act can help guage a players talents or possible talents.
