Leinart's stock is also dropping with the Texans looking fully interested with Carr and NO getting Brees. It also dropped when Young played excellently in the Rose Bowl and Leinart didn't. This is a case where Leinart has kept his draft stock the same but has slipped because the need is down and the QBs around him have been going up on the boards.
Not to mention he would've had a great target in that Lloyd fellow. That guy made some unbelievable catches last season. Now he's left San Fran.
One interesting twist on all of this is that Condon (if that's indeed who Leinart chooses as his agent after dropping Steinberg) would have to essentially bad mouth his current client Chad Pennington in order to entice the Jets to move up to 2 to pick Leinart. If Leinart goes with Condon, and then Leinart drops into the Jets' lap at 4, then the Jets have two clients with the same agent. That might be to our benefit. Condon can't play hardball with the Jets on behalf of one player if he knows that his arguments could be turned against him when negotiating on behalf of the other.
Seems to me that Tennessee is the key to this. Once rumbling started that they may prefer Young, Leinart started the drop. I could be wrong but it just seems like too much negative stuff is being said now. It reminds me of Aaron Rodgers. Once he started to drop pre-draft it was all over. He obviously did not have the chance last season to hurt his image, but people talk like he is a bum now. I would be scared to make that call if Leinart is still there at #4. Look at the previous decade and you will notice a trend. You go to and win super bowls with good teams and pretty good qbs. Not superstar qbs. I love drafting a QB if you do not have one. The jets do not know they don't. Chad can return or my guy PR can show up and prove he is a high quality player in this league. Now don't get me wrong, Leinart will not drop past 7, if even that far.
Sorry. Not creative enough to get an original. Plus riggo is best fit for my redskin heritage. Just waiting for a good Ramsey one, that's all.
Ah, New York, New York. You wait and see, this guy could be very big for you. I have had a soft spot for the NYJ since I saw the prototype qb as a kid, Broadway Joe. My interest renewed when the pr rumors started. My skins messed him up royally and I truly believe the change will be great for him and the jets. I think I can muster one more, J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets Jets
Nope, I give up. My right click is gone on my mouse so getting the pic I want will take some effort. I will go blank for now.
Leinart will go by #3. If the Titans don't want him, they will likely be fielding calls from teams such as the Cardinals, Lions and Raiders looking to jump into that spot and grab him. The estimated 400 point difference on the draft value chart between picks 2 and 3 is huge, which is why those teams will likely not look to jump to #2.
