Lowery was abused all season, it wasn't just down the stretch. I never thought he was very good. Hopefully he just struggled because he was a rookie but I don't see how he can be a man-to-man cover guy.
A secondary with Revis and Sheppard starting and Ivy at Nickel is real good. Then Rex can utilize Leonhard and Lowery in specific situations.
Lowery was a ball hawk in college so I think safety on passing downs in the pros would be perfect for him. He's a pretty hard hitter too, he forced like 5 fumbles last year
Leonhard will be a Jet by Saturday night Rex will not let him leave without his John Hancock on a new contract. So we have our LB, Corner, Saftey & guard our D is set we are going WR or QB in the draft.
If true, this is a great trade. Grabbing a guy with number one cornerback ability for just a fifth is staggering. If he plays well enough, he'll be worth the conditional pick so no tears over that.
I guess it doesn't seem so great when you consider that last year out 3rd and 5th got us one of the best DTs in the game, but it's still a good deal for us. Plus, we get to keep our 4th and hopefully draft the next Kerry Rhodes/Leon Washington.
I understand that but at the same time I dont think you bench a guy because he is in a contract dispute... I mean I dont want him to suck but reading one analyst they said that this deal was a huge steal for the Eagles which suggests that Sheppard is that bad. However, he only has a year left on his deal so perhaps we can do a one year thing, give him a pay raise and then see what happens
The 5th is this year & if he plays that well he will be worth the 2nd next year. The good part is he has to do well for us to give that up. If not it is a 4th & 5th for a proven guy.
Please quit breathing. I bet Jim Sorgi starts over Payton Manning too. And don't forget about Breaston replacing Fitzgerald as the number 1 WR on Arizona's depth chart. MODS, Can we please screen people before they post?
Thats only because Sheldon Brown and Asante Samuel were in front of him, Sheppard could start on a lot of teams.
