Jamal Williams would be a very nice pick-up to spell Jenkins....& then still add a 'youngblood to groom' for future.
The Chargers claim they have every intention of re-signing Williams and that he wants to finish his career in San Diego. We'll see. My next priority is Atogwe. The guy received the lowest possible tender from the Rams. If he signs, the Rams get NO compensation. Slap a poison pill on it and get it done.
Singing Williams will just create the same problems we are trying to avoid with Jenkins. Neither is going to play 16 games next season. Both are over 30, over 300 lbs and recovering from ACL tears. That does not bode well for their sustained health, even on a rotational basis. Bringing Williams to the Jets will just lead to having two injured NTs on the roster. We already have Pouha to backup/replace Jenkins. We need to add someone through the draft.
