If they could trade #17 and Revis and nothing else for Cutler I would hazard a guess that they would do that in a nano-second.
He may be, but no CB and #17 pick is worth as much as a franchise QB is..not even close. A QB controls the ball 60 plays a game or more. A CB may have 6 or 8 balls thrown his way each game..and not touch one of them.
HUH? We spent the 14th pick on revis so that would be like giving away 2 #1s, the jets are better off just giving them the 2 #1s
Yeah, but you can't trade for a franchise QB anytime you want..they come along once in a blue moon. Far more has been spent on far less as pointed out earlier. Walker and Williams. You may not like him but name one QB in the entire NFL you would want more than Cutler. Maybe Rivers..maybe. Manning is getting old, Brady is getting old and is now damaged goods as well. Brees is getting old, Warner is old...Romo doesn't do well in big games...who is 25 and already labeled a franchise QB other than Cutler?...nobody. He is worth a lot. What if somebody told you you could trade for Manning or Brady after their second year, what would you give? Most GMs think Cutler will be just as good and maybe better than either of them.
We will not trade Revis for Cutler. Rex Ryan wants to build the defense before the offense, and this would not follow his plan
So because im such a loser and bored all day, this is an email I sent Mike Vaccaro this morning regarding his pulitzer-worthey article this morning...... http://www.nypost.com/seven/04012009/sports/jets/jets_gotta_bring_jay_into_gang_162353.htm -----Original Message----- From: jon delpozo [mailto:jdelpozo1@sbcglobal.net] Sent: Wed 4/1/2009 11:41 AM To: Michael.Vaccaro Subject: Cutler article 4/1/09 Mike, you cant write an article like that without at least proposing what the Jets might offer Denver to make the trade happen. Any idiot can write an article saying the Jets "need to make this happen". Yeah, no kidding. There's going to be 5, 6 maybe 8 teams trying to land Cutler. The Jets have neother a proven QB talent or a top ten pick to give up. Its not going to be easy for Tanny to land this guy. All of us Jet fans are drooling over the possibility And should have, Jon. Had space permitted -- and I should've seen that it did -- my suggestion would be a 1 and Rhodes. Thanks for the note. Mike Vaccaro
Not totally crazy, some posters have stated the value of Culter being a 1 or 2, it's going to cost a team multiple picks and possible players...he is not being traded on the cheap.....
Even though he is "on the market" , the Broncos don't HAVE to trade Cutler. No Revis, no Harris but it would probably take two #1's to have any kind of a shot. Bottom line is Detroit and others have a lot more to offer.
I don't buy that at all. Denver is interested in making the best possible trade. If that means trading Cutler to another AFC team, so be it. The Colts traded Elway to Denver in 1983. They were not in the same division, but they did play each other twice that season. Drew Bledsoe was traded from New England to Buffalo.
What does how good Rhodes is have to do with Cutler being an intolerable douchebag? They seem like separate topics of discussion.
