Why does it have to be a D player? Kellen Clemens seems like a good fit for a trade to Denver...

I disagree. KC is an good solid QB. Trading for Marshall at a price that sacrifices quality depth at QB seems like a bad idea. The Jets have had so many issues with problems at QB depth over the past 10 seasons, I'm surprised that you'd think gioving up KC would be a good idea.

Because there defense totally sucks and their offense only partially sucks. But yeah, I would try and get them to take Clemens too.

This trade is never going to happen. We're not parting with any of our better defensive players, and we're not willing to trade a first rounder.

Unless Denver winds up just giving away Marshall for nothing, all these trade proposals and three team trades are mere pipe dreams.

What does the last 10 years have to do with the fact that we've got a backup in Erik Ainge who looks like a reliable backup.

Clemens is going to be gone after this season anyway... if moving him lands us a guy whose going to be a #1 WR for the next couple of years (jail / suspension barring) then it's a good move to make. Clemens is NOT coming back after this year.

We would need to sign a veteran QB, but I'm completely comfortable with Ainge being the #2.

Are you serious? Are you referring to the same KC who couldn't out play a rookie with 3 years of experience in the offense? Sure, if we gave up KC we'd have to bring in another QB. But I'm not so sure Ainge isn't already better than him.

But don't worry, Denver's not going to be satisfied trading Marshall for a 2nd rounder and a career backup QB anyways. So it's a moot point.

    from rotoworld.com:

According to Newsday's Bob Glauber, the Jets are "seriously exploring" the possibility of trading for Brandon Marshall.
Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum is desperate, and Marshall would be an ideal fit. A dominant run-after-catch wideout to book end Jerricho Cotchery would give Mark Sanchez a much better shot at rookie-year success. But considering the hurdles that have to be cleared -- discussion of a mega contract, parting with perhaps multiple first-day picks, and selling owner Woody Johnson on Marshall's excessive baggage -- a trade still seems like a long shot.

How is that breaking news? I'm pretty sure most teams do that sort of thing in similar situations.

It means the opposite. Like they just said on ESPN, they don't want Marshall thinking a trade is imminent.

Of course they don't and they don't want one team screwing up a deal with another team. There are enough different rumors out there that it seems obvious something is going to happen before the end of the week.

Just hope he doesn't end up on another AFC east team like Moss did. I could see Parcells making a serious run at him.

Imagine..The Pats have Moss, Buffalo has TO, Miami has Marshall and we have Clowney.

I doubt Parcells would go after this clown.

I could see him doing it. He's not in it for the long-term, so if he gets him and he stays in line for a season or 2, great. Parcells will stay just long enough to get the praise of turning around yet another downtrodden franchise and be long gone before the petulant Marshall starts acting up...
