Heh, I was thinking that when I drafted Lambert, too. My feeling is that both can play in both schemes, and with the way Lambert flew to the ball I doubt he'd struggle playing the Ray Lewis type role in a 3-4 defense.
That's true and your LB situation is easier to work with than the scheme problem I see from someone else. It will be fun at the end when we all talk our teams up and maybe explain what types of schemes we would run and how the players would fit in.
Yep. Another thing is that while you can't pass up Lawrence Taylor at 4, it's hard to draft for a 3-4 team especially since so few 3-4 lineman are known without drafting Big Blue's whole lineup. I'm just hoping you don't take my player.. Hehe.
Hah that means I need to make a list of 17 guys. I think I'll be alright, but just incase I'll fill out a few of my top targets.

Blount was a great value at 37, as I have him as the best CB ever. (I had to take Ham at 36, though. 2nd best OLB in my book and I think the depth at CB is greater than at OLB.) Vast majority of the picks tonight were very good.
Murrell I have sent in a list, just in case I'm not around. Please do not look at it, even though not many of the picks will be considered "steals."
Did JG PM someone his draft board? And are the new rules going to be taken into effect now, or do we need to wait for everyone to agree to them? Im on board, btw...
I agree with the new rules, I am a student and always at the computer anyway so it wont affect me much, but does give me the option to pre rank if need be
The other scheme problem I was alluding to was the ganooch drafting of Brown and Campbell. I'll preface this by saying I think Brown is maybe the top NFL player of all time and that Campbell is a top ten back. I also would say that Campbell is perhaps my favorite player to view through NFL Films (I did catch the end of his career when I was young kid, but I have to rely on NFL Films for his earlier work.) That Monday Night effort against Miami in 1978 was ridiculous. He scored on an 81-yard run in the 4th quarter. His four TDs gave Houston a 35-30 win. He was like Barry Sanders in that he didn't do any end zone antics after scoring TDs. But on that long run against Miami he ran to the back of the right side of the end zone and the ball just fell out of his hands, I suppose out of fatigue. Then there was the time he rammed Ram linebacker Isiah Robertson in the chest and knocked him down and continued on his battering ram ways while his jersey was being torn apart by other Ram defenders. That is an amazing piece of footage. Anyway, Campbell usually worked out of I-formation. He was lined up behind a "fullback" who was lined up behind the quarterback. Campbell was referred to as a "halfback" or also (and more appropriately) a tailback. Brown, a fullback, usually ran out of a split back formation where the halfback lined up behind a tackle. (Back then the halfback and fullback terms made common sense, unlike today when the terms are borderline ridiculous and should be abolished from the NFL lexicon.) So if we actually put our all time teams on the field, I don't know where you'd put Brown and Campbell in the backfield. I'll let ganooch decide. But then I realized probably most of us will have this same "problem", probably me, too. I put that in quotes because having Brown and Campbell in the same backfield is a good problem to have. So in the end, ignore my scheme comments with the Lambert/Taylor and Brown/Campbell things. I think those things would be worked out. All in all, I think everyone is doing a good job thus far with their selections.
1028's draft looks niiiiice. Most of the drafts are looking great. Mine's a little sketchy, though.
Your draft is looking pretty good. I'm loving the Ronnie Lott pick... and I think him and Johnny U are more then enough to continue to build. As far as I'm concerned you're still in the running.
JetGreen has made solid picks. I guess I'm gonna sign off now and go to the store and then maybe play a rare game of NCAA Football. I'll be back later to hopefully make my next pick.
