Sounds good...if the 6 hour pass and he has not submitted a pick than his turn is up. Of course he could PM you a draft board in advance for the pick. And where he pick could be reflected in the next round. Lets say he picks 4th, but misses his pick until the 9th pick. Then he could pick 2nd in the next round, and so on...just an idea

I really don't like the idea of that though unless there is a family emergency... we know in advance that we will likely each be making a pick or 2 per day so if you're not going to be there all day leave a board. This is kind of like a punishment for missing the pick as you get it pushed back a few slots.

I'd like to do that too if everyone would like to continue AFTER all the starters are picked. I'd even like to pick you coach. I'm thinking after the starters are drafted we have one round of coach selction then draft backups.

The backups should go like this

    1 QB
    1 RB
    1 WR
    1 OT
    1 OG
    1 C
    1 DE
    1 DT/NT
    1 OLB
    1 ILB
    1 CB
    1 S

Let us know if there is interest to go further

The only thing on this board during this part of the season is updates on Chad's arm and stupid trade ideas so I'm in. We can even go a full 52 if you want.

I think we can extend JV to 7 since he didn't know of this rule and then Cakes will go on the clock.

I'd rather Jonathan_Vilma pick to keep the correct order, if possible. I'd be willing to give him till 9pm. If he doesn't pick by that time, we need to figure out something. Maybe just do what happened to the Vikings in the draft a few years ago and let people pick in front of him.

Ugh, Ganooch's pick was announced at 9 oclock. 9 PM will be a 12 hour interval

But, I guess, if Cakes is on the clock, and he dosent use his pick till 9, JV still has some time to get his pick in. So I guess its fair enough.

    from the first post:
    1. Each person should be allowed 6 hours to make a pick. I have given this much time because not everyone will be on all the time. A PM will be sent when it's your turn to draft.

    2. If a player does not make a pick within the alloted time frame there will be an hour where each of the other members will each recommend the player that should be drafted

I suppose #2 would indicate we agree to draft a player for JV right now. I don't really like that because if we discuss who JV should get here, we'd also be hurting strategy. I'd rather not say what players I think should go off the board at this time in the draft because I'd like those players to fall to me in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th rounds.

    Here's where I am confused:
The draft started at 10am on Saturday. I was under the impression that MSUJet's window was 10am-4pm. The 2nd person had 4pm-10pm. Then the draft would halt till Sunday morning at 10. 3rd picker had 10-4 window. 4th picker had 4-10pm window, so on and so forth.
You could pick before your window if the person before you picked.
Therefore, this past weekend we could have seen this crazy scenario:
first three people draft Montana, Unitas, and Brown within minutes of one another on Saturday morning around 10am and then Lawrence Taylor gets drafted at 9:59 am on Monday morning (JV's window plus the nighttime/early morning draft halt).

    You see what I'm sayin'?

That's why I am unsure if I can legally make a selection right now.

Hopefully, Murrell can square up the confusion, but this is going well so far anyway.

It would've been fine if ya skipped me. Sorry I thought that we weren't picking during the daytime. It'd be nice if ya updated the draft thread too so we could see who has been picked and who hasn't, Murrell. My pick will be up shortly.

    J_V - all set

I think what I want is 6 hours after the previous pick was made for the next person to make theirs. I think it'll speed up the draft. I originally thought that if we came up with a decision as a group to pick for the missing person that would be good. I now think that's probably not the best way to go. I think if the 6 hours have passed the next person should go. I then think it should go back to the previous person to pick. I think we should give them 2 hours to make their pick. If they are still not around the next person in line should go and then back to the missing person. I also think that the draft order should stay the same for the next round as it would have been if everyone made their picks in the correct order. Let me know if everyone thinks this is okay? I think it's gone really well so far. On a side note I think if we have 3 picks that go by rather quickly there shoudl be some lienency towards the next person in line, just because it's not always easy to get online and it might not be in the persons mind to do so if they aren't expecting to draft in that particular day. Thoughts?

    Yes, I like this.

Person two picks before you makes a pick at noon. You know one way or the other you can make your pick at 6 pm or sooner.

I think your ideas are good, Murrell. It's not always easy to get on, especially during daytime on weekdays.

I love the internet - I just pulled out 4 or 5 amazing players that I've never heard of from a long time ago. Now to decide which 2 I want... hm...
